Hopefully he comes to the Pete next year. Some are saying he is the best HS players since LeBron. If he is as good as advertised, I am thinking the media hype machine for him and Duke will be like nothing we've ever seen in college basketball

Can we stop proclaiming everyone is the next LeBron? The guy is at worst the second greatest basketball player ever.

I was thinking the same thing. I remember when Lebron was in HS. The hype was real and the hype was warranted. But this guy? Who the heck is he?

Are we suggesting in this thread that Morrison, Fredette and Holmgren hype approached the levels of Lebron? Or are we just pulling some highly recruited white guys out of thin air to try and create some weird narrative? I’m struggling to follow along here.
Zion wasn't viewed as a generational player. He was viewed as a potential NBA All-Star type. His body type and type of game is what generated the hype. Flagg is said to be the best HS player since LeBron. And he's white and he will play at Duke. The media will be all over that.
Or maybe simply the media will be all over it if he is indeed the best HS player since Lebron.

I have been watching him for a few years especially since leaving Maine and going to IMG. He is really skilled and very athletic, both parents were college athletes. You Tube him and make up your own minds. He has played the top players in the country extremely well in their match ups. By the way he is a twin and so are the Boozer boys rare that the top players in the country are both twins albeit in different recruiting years due to Flaggs reclassifyin.
Very good point. I know of the boozer boys. Been hearing their hype for a few years now. Maybe when they reach college that will be excruciating for SMF too.
Everyone was saying the 1 Boozer twin was generational but then Flagg turned out to be better (at least right now)
I’ll concede the fact that Zion was a run of the mill top 5 recruit when he committed, but by the time he started playing at Duke he was absolutely being hailed as the next LeBron/generational player.
If you have a generational player every year it has no meaning.

I dont think. He was "different." There literally has never been a player quite like him. People thought he'd be really good in the NBA, maybe HOF level but I dont think anyone thought he's the next LeBron. He couldn't dribble or shoot.

I don’t think the average college basketball fan is familiar with Flagg. Not like Greg Oden, OJ Mayo, Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, and Zion Williamson who everybody knew.

Jay-Z came to the Petersen Events Center to watch Zion play. Zion was a different level.
I would guess that he could make as much money playing at Duke as he can playing in the G League.
