Would he had been difference maker in this game?

Will this defense get better in his return?

Not sure on the details of his suspension, but he sure did let down the team.

He would've kept the score down. They wouldn't have near 49 points at the half. He's a future Pro Bowler, and this 3 game suspension hurts nobody but Pitt. Won't hurt him come draft day at all.

Exactly. Obviously doesnt care if he is a junior and getting suspended for 3 games right off the bat. Screw him.

He was predicted to be a 1st rd pick before the season even started.
Maybe he should get caught smoking weed again so the Morality Police up in the Cathedral of Learning send him packing. That way he doesn't risk injury and can prep for the combine lol

You can make fun of it, but it still doesn't excuse the fact that he did something that he knew he would get a 3 game suspension when caught.

Personal responsibility.

IMO - he definitely makes the tackle early in the game when the score was 7-0 and our safety whiffed allowing them a 1st down. We were not going to win the game, but would have gotten good field position and things would not have snowballed as quickly.

why? He is a great player who would have never missed a snap for the hoopies no matter how much ganja he would have had in one of your corn cob pipes

That's one reason WVU isn't a joke of a program.
There's a cost-benefit to everything.
Whitehead probably keeps the PSU game a one-score game. That would've put a few thousand more people in the stands today. Obviously he wouldn't have stopped OK State's offense, but he would've slowed it down a lot. We're talking future Pro Bowler here, the best Pitt safety any of us have seen since Carlton Williamson.

Not sure why the university is willing to look past so many major ethical breaches but drops the hammer on an athlete smoking weed who's worth millions to the school. That tells me they're willing to cut corners to succeed in pretty much everything but sports.

It doesn't matter what the issue is; if one were told he'd miss three games if he jaywalked again, after being punished twice, I'd expect him to stop jaywalking until his eligibility was over.

You're an idiot.
When he comes back and plays like he will what will you say then..
sucks to lose we all know that, Whitehead played his ass off the last two years..

If you're talking to me, you need to quote my post. I have no idea who that post was directed to. I have to assume it wasn't directed at me, because I said nothing about his ability, or how hard he plays.

But, those of you who just type a post without quoting leave me wondering who you are talking to.

I talked to Jordan before the game, he's ready for his redemption.

Are we with 100 percent certainty it was weed, from my understanding he was caught cheating.

No he didn't. He had a really good first year. His second year was disappointing, this was even before his injury. Whitehead himself said he was disappointed with his second year.

Agreed. Was that the 3rd & 11 run from the 3? Definitely needed Whitehead there. First three OK State touchdowns, safety was out to lunch on run, then missed tackles on both passes. Whitehead is best tackler on team; gotta believe he makes at least some of those plays & prevents it from getting so ugly so fast.

Yes. Early in the game, crowd was fired up, and they would have punted from their end zone. There were quite a few whiffs that Whitehead makes the tackle IMO.

I said earlier today, Gundy could have put 80 on the board today if he wanted to. He called off the dogs really early.

You know nothing about football and need to stop posting, because you're an embarrassment. Whitehead wouldn't have effected the game a whit. He was on he field the entire game last year and Rudolph still pick you to pieces. Defense was not the difference between last year and this year. It was you offense this year that couldn't answer when you were put in the knockout zone this year, that answered twice last year.

Whitehead is a stoner who couldn't have stopped Stoner.

Super man couldn't help this defense. And Whitehead is just another Pa. space filler, name one thing he has done to help our defense because we watched a lot of games last year just like this one.

Interception returned for TD vs. Virginia to beeak open a tight game.

Bro you're not on the team. Lose the pride. It doesn't belong to you

Narduzzi on Whitehead:

“We'll have an added safety coming into the pack,” Narduzzi said, “which will help us, which really hurt us for three weeks. He's paid the price, and he'll be back.”

What price has he paid, missing 3 games that won't affect his draft stock? He was a 1st rd pick before the season even started. He didn't need those games, Pitt needed him for those games.

Do you really need an answer to the first part of your question???? Certainly he would have made a difference,....but not enough to win the game.

As far as hurting the team by getting suspended, there were some others that fall into that category.

I am a West Virginia fan who has closely followed recruiting for 35 years. My fellow WVU fan is mistaken with respect to Whitehead. We recruited him heavily until the end. I watched the Oklahoma State game. I think Whitehead would have helped. However, the scheme was not a good matchup for Pitt. Every team in America has teams they don't match up well with for a variety of reasons.

If Jordan does not play against the nitters do we win...
after a great first year Jordan had a good second year, of course his expectation would be higher.
Give him a break playing for playing on a poor defense.

Watch the replay and the spot, line judge gave him a half yard for the first down, happened right in front of my face.

No excuse, we still would have got beaten.

He obviously didn't and probably doesn't care about PITT , his team, teammates, etc. or he would have been more responsible and not suspended.

I say with the year we're about to have Narduzzi should reevaluate Whitehead and maintain his suspension for the remainder of the year to set an example for others!
The dismissals and suspensions has "killed" this year!

You keep saying it like Whitehead is some automatic 1st rounder, but it's just not true. Most mock drafts do not list him as such, and the one I saw that did said he would have to rebound from a disappointing second season if he wanted a chance to go in the 1st round.

Not saying he won't make it, but if the draft were held today there is very little chance Whitehead would be a 1st round pick.

Forget about adding fans. When Rice comes to town, might see tumbleweeds in the lots!
