I wished Foster had come to Pitt to be a deadly duo with Tyler Boyd, but also wish him the best this year at Bama. Looks like he ready and waiting to to stomp his stuff at Wideout, and Saban thinks so too, good luck to him.

But then there’s wide receiver Robert Foster, who might have the most upside of anyone when it comes to the upcoming season.

“[He's] doing a good job, a really good job,” head coach Nick Saban said after Monday’s practice.

Seems reasonable to have a breakout year, talented for sure. Would have also loved to see him in blue and gold.

I quess we are not going to hear from the folks who said Foster was a bust a Alabama lol

Foster has a National Championship Ring, will have a Diploma, and still can be an All American and NFL Draft Player, I say that is a success. Additionally, if Pitt badly wanted him that is a compliment to Pitt that Bama wanted and got him, and wish both success.

Pitt has much to do to rebuild its Program and no reason to disrespect Bama that has done it many times in many Era's.

Rooting for him to do well. Local wpial player highly ranked doesn't choose Pitt, at least don't go to the tickle monsters o wvu, he didn't. He went to ala freakin bama, anyone with that opportunity would do the same.

Man what a talent this kid is. Would have loved to see him in Blue and Gold. H2P!
I think if Pitt would have had him with Boyd and he did not get injured, Pitt would have won Iowa, UNC, & Miami, finished 11-2!

The smart coach that once taught and told me that 2 to 3 Players with 4 to 6 plays can win most CFB games, would not have been wrong had Boyd-Foster went to Pitt together. Few Teams could have covered both in my opinion, and Pitt would won the Coastal.

Whether Foster would have stayed another year is a question, but man they both have talent like you said.

Why I hope Lamont Wade joins Paris Ford in 2017, what a dynamic duo joining Hamlin and Coleman next year with Whitehead leading and teaching all he can share with them all???

Hope it happens!

I am rooting for him too but before the accolades he does have to play a little. Seeing more time and/or starting would certainly silence his detractors.

What's he done in 3 years so far?

I'll wait till he does something on the field before I say he made a good decision. Boyd who made the right decision is counting dollar bills right now and will be 1 year closer to bis 2nd contract when he makes his real money.

I want all WPIAL players to be stars and go to the NFL....even ones that go to PSU or WVU. I hope Foster makes it, but imo he absolutely made the wrong decision. His "ring" will get him nothing in life.

Disagree with this, he was a starter for Alabama last year and will be again this year. The only way he doesn't make it is if he gets hurt again. If he is injury prone at Alabama he would've been injury prone at Pitt as well.

Had he come to Pitt maybe him and Boyd split being targeted and neither show quite enough to get drafted high. If Foster is able to keep healthy and stay on the field he will get his shot at the next level.

Or maybe he comes here and dominates the way he was supposed to the way his counterpart Whitehead has done. He very easily could get passed up on the depth chart down at Alabama. They recruit all positions on a different level. If he comes back feeling the jitters, runs a few routes wrong, drops a few balls....he won't get 2nd and 3rd chances there. They don't need him to be successful, they have guys lined up ready to be the next one. At Pitt he would have been forced the ball and given every opportunity in the world to succeed. The first 3 games will be make or break for Foster. My heart says he'll make it, but my head says he's done. Guess we'll see.

Hope he does well. If he does his dad could be getting a second payday after next years draft.

Haha...how true! I hope he does well since he does not play his home town team this season.

BTW.....one of the reasons he could be a breakout player is that he really hasn't played that much.

Hope he does well. If he does his dad could be getting a second payday after next years draft.

If you’re not a Crimson Tide fan, you might not know much about Foster, or his name might connect with something in the back of your mind and cause an “Oh right, I remember him” reaction.

He’s also only had 16 career catches for 160 yards, despite having been with the program so long that his primary recruiters were former assistant coaches Lance Thompson and Mike Groh.

If I'm recruiting on the current staff at Pitt, I make sure every kid with stars in their eyes sees this along with a picture of TB in his Bengals helmet.

Might be something that backfires pretty amazingly if he ends up getting drafted near Boyd, plus spent his career at Alabama and won multiple NCs.
