Anyone who knows anything about Pitt basketball, this coach we have, and has any common sense would have known Mintz wasn't coming here. That was one of the most ridiculous "guarantees" I've ever seen on this board. And at this point, I don't blame him one bit. He doesn't want to play for a program in complete disarray, with an incompetent airhead for a head coach, losing seasons for as long as this coach is here, and no fans in the stands supporting it. The BS and nonsense coming out of his mouth are pretty hard to take. He is a dead man walking now at Pitt. I wouldn't be surprised if Capel tries to say we're building our house with better players now and he has others in the wings. Yeah, right!!! He has NEVER recruited well at Pitt. If he ever does get an even average to decent player, he chases them away with his baloney and nonsense while showing them what a lousy coach he is. His toxic culture will be very difficult to eradicate.
There is no justifying why Capel is our head coach after today. He should be fired immediately for sheer incompetence, lack of recruiting, poor performance on the court, and instilling a toxic environment into the Pitt program.
Now we can talk realistically about who our next head coach should be since Capel will be gone soon, thankfully.
