Ok 4-5 isn't so great considering the OOC
scheddule. However as I watch us, I do see
some improvement, Malcolm who last year
wasn't anything more than a non-quick,
stand still shooter, is now showing why she
was so highly regarded coming out of h.s
She's showing she can score without only
relying on open looks. Yesterday she took
the ball to the hole and scored a number
of times. Her court awarenss seems better
and she doesn't make a lot of mistakes.
Marley W is just the opposite. She's too
good of an athlete, and has played too
many minnutes at this level to make the
kinds of mistakes she's making. She
seemingly has lost confidence in her
shooting. I'd sit her, and work on improving
her overall floor game. Bring her back slowly.
IMO she has the ability, but as of now she's
fighting herself. I think she can improve all
of this. Coaching needed here.

These ladies came back yesterday when in
the last qtr they showed strong resolve
and basically shut Binghamton down when
they needed to. I continue to like what I see
from Battle. King? Oh yeah, not much....just
another double double. Binghamton had no
answer for her. She scored at will and hit
the boards hard.

Will take some time but they have the right coach in place. H2P

Imagine if we didn’t have Liatu King. She and Malcolm are the only scorers that can be counted on.

But once we get to the ACC, I’m thinking that King won’t have enough height and Malcolm won’t have enough quickness.

Marley and Perkins both need to improve a whole bunch.

Was nice to see Pitt come back and win yesterday, even if it was Binghamton…

Go Pitt.

They changed the starting lineup yesterday, Hutcherson in for Ayodele. But she still only played 15 minutes, so her playing time didn't really increase.

Also, Liatu King was named the ACC player of the week today.

Only Pitt player besides Brianna Kiesel to win ACC player of the week.

That in itself says a whole lot. Did you see both the
men and ladies live?

Also, is it just me watching it on tv, or is Marley W
regressing as much as I think she is? As for Hutherson,
a few rebounds. She was also benched after making a
fairly difficult shot (difficult for her that is), when she
drew a fould for, I guess pushing off.

Go Pitt.
My guess is those ACC teams will overplay both of
them, kinda like what you're seeing with Carrington
now that he's playing against top level teams who
have also now scouted him and now have tape on him.
King and Malcolm will need help from the others, and
I really don't think they'll be able to provide much.
Hope I'm wrong.

I did not stay for the women's game. If it was a Saturday "doubleheader" I probably would have. Even if the women's game started an hour after the men's game I might have. But I just didn't feel like sitting around (or more likely wandering around Oakland because they cleared the arena out after the men's game) for two hours doing nothing waiting for the other game to start.

They should have started the women's game at 5:00 and told everyone they could just stay after the men's game and that the were going to put the end of the Stiller game on the big screen in between. Although given what happened with the Stiller game yesterday that might not have made any difference.

I'm old enough to have been going to Pitt games when Saturday men's/women's doubleheaders happened several times a season. And they never had two hours between games. In fact IIRC they used to only leave a half hour between.

Although most games didn't last a full two hours back then (because they weren't on television), so it was more like 45 minutes.
