They need to. Missed the playoffs last year , they need those two undefeated going into that game and the winner will get every call going forward
Does the big 10 have 3 of the worst power 5 teams in Illinois, Rutgers and Maryland? Throw in Purdue and Nebraska. What a crap conference.

I thought the same after that game. But then, Maryland lost by 3 TDs to Temple. The same Temple that couldn’t beat Buffalo or Villanova.
It is just unfair to put Maryland in the same category as Rutgers. Rutgers is on another level with regards to pathetic football.
Wisconsin, Northwestern, Purdue and Maryland are on the wrong end 4 of 5 biggest upsets verses the line so far this year.

Ironically they actually play buffalo tomorrow, so we’ll see how Rutgers does against a team Maryland couldn’t beat. I agree though, getting absolutely blasted by Kansas pretty much automatically makes you the worst P5 team in the country.
Rutgers is the worst P5 program in the country and their future is bleak.
The only way it could be worse is if the program ceased to exist. And you can make the argument that would be better.
