WVU Fans

I think it's about accurate. They had most of the upper bowl on the visiting side. I can't see the bleachers, but I assume they had most of that section as well.

Small section of bleaches are visitors. If you were at the game you know the overwhelming majority of bleachers is the panther pitt

Not if you sit in the end zone below the bleachers, which is where I sit. That's a weird accusation to make at someone who has missed like three games in the last dozen years or so.

The past few years, they student overflow has been in 528 and I believe 529. Did this change recently?

I think guessing attendance is tricky, especially on days when the visitors side gets that much sun. I sit on visitors side but when you go to concessions, thousands are inside getting cool. When I do club seats, always on visitors side, those hot days so many people are inside watching on TV.

There were a lot more down below in 2022. It seemed like almost all of them were up top yesterday. So it was definitely less. At the same time, they had 80% of the upper bowl visiting side, I would guess. There were clusters of yellow seats on both sides up top that were empty, which tells me it didn't sell our. But those slowly filled in during the first half. I would guess attendance was like 65,000 and 50ish were Pitt fans.

The WVU fans were nasty and classless

I just want to know if any other fan base is like this. Maybe some of the SEC schools... ? The fans at Tennessee told us there would be some fights when they play Florida, so maybe it's more common than I think and I just don't see it. But I can't imagine West Virginians ever being cordial. I wouldn't even consider going to a game at WVU again. I went down there in '09 and they were quizzing us before the game, saying numbers of Pitt players and seeing if we could name them, in an attempt to prove that we weren't real fans. It was weird.

The left half of the bleachers were Pitt students, the right half was WVU, just not as full. It was cool to see since half was wearing blue for Pitt and the other half gold for WVU.

This is the reason I did not buy any season tickets this year. I have had season tickets for 37 years, but after the last home game with WVU I called it quits. I'm not going to the game to be pushed and shoved and called names. I have gotten so tired of that, very tired.
I'm 74 years old and don't need their fans running through the parking lots yelling at us, throwing trash and trying to get in your face?
That's a lot of fun? Not in my book.
I wrote the administration about what happened. Apparently they just laughed it off as 'college football'.
After 37 years of season tickets I didn't receive one phone call or letter asking why we dropping the tickets. Not one.
Soooo.........

I hear ya". That type of obnoxious, sub-human fan behavior from wvu fans coming to OUR town is the reason my group probably isn't renewing our season's tickets next year. We have seats on the 40 in the lower bowl on the home side, really good seats. We sold them yesterday because we didn't want to put up with the s%$t we'd have to with the drunk morons from wvu. That and the exorbitant parking fees for a game.

Seats are always available for individual games in any given year. That's the route we're going next year.

Where are all of those moron wvu fans that come on this board when we play them and throw their insults around? I haven't heard a peep from them before or after the game. Maybe they know they suck and why be subjected to more humiliation. The game was enough. They're probably reading this board the best they can since many of them can't read past a 3rd grade level. But they can't respond. It would be so bad for them.

Barbaric, repulsive, vile, disgusting trash etc. Next year the game should be played at noon. H2P!!!!

I totally agree. The ones that I have met in my life that went WVU are totally cool. They were some of the nicest people I ever met, including a former player. The ones that didn’t is another story…

I haven’t met one PSU fan that I really liked. They are arrogant and snobby in some cases.
Except like hyenas when they are part of their pack they revert to their true nature….they’re cretins and acted that way yesterday

I thought they were worse yesterday than the 730 game in 2022. They were loud in '22, but it had an "all in good fun" vibe. But yesterday they were back to how I remember them in the 2000s. At least they don't still do that high school-esque chant every time they get a first down.

We were sitting in front of a nice looking family of WVU fans, looked very respectable. Kids are about 13, 10 & 8. 3rd quarter the kids decide to start letting loose with their Eat - Pitt cheers. I glare at the dad and said I didn't appreciate the language right behind me. He of course gave me a look of indifference. So naturally at the end of the game I couldn't contain any longer and kind of let Jethro and his kids bub, hooter and cootie have it pretty good.

Normally I'm like let kids be kids, but this one was different.

What were the Pitt students chanting? It sounded an awful lot like cousin-effers, lol. My dad kept asking me, and I kept pretending like I didn't know what they were saying... but I think that's what they were saying.

Through the years I've blasted them pretty good. It's sad their kids are being raised by neanderthals and the cycle will just continue. Smh

They treat your acting with civility as weakness….in my experience you have to give it right back to them.

The year we wore those dumb ass uniforms against them, I sat near a Pitt fan who wouldn't stop prodding a WVU fan. It was the only time I've seen it happen it that direction. They eventually walked down (presumably to the bathroom) together to settle their differences. It did not end well for the Pitt fan, judging by how his face looked when he came back up to the section.

No game is worth being in an altercation. Can't stoop to their levels of ignorance.

And anyone who tries defending their behaviors are pathetic. Go home mountain scummers!!!! H2P!!!!

The Eat Shit Pitt chants are fine for students or if you are in your 20s. But if you are an elementary student, a 40 year old professional, or as in the case I witnessed yesterday, a 75 year old lady, you shouldn't be chanting that. Its the definition of low class. I can care less when students do it. But I cringe when I see the other age groups. I feel so sorry for them.

As I said, the dad was right there and didn't seem to care. So enjoyed giving it back to them after the game

I saw quite a few younger kids (10-12 ish range) wearing the esp shirts. Classy way to raise kids.

I also saw plenty of belly guts, mostly from the female hoopies, including a 40ish lady wearing a way tooooo tight sports bra with a massive beer gut but with a sun tattoo on her gut that must have been stretched to the max.

I was driving through Morgantown a few weeks ago. It wasn’t anywhere near Pitt week. And in the windows within a short stretch there were placards that read “eat shit Pitt”. I think it’s funny that we live rent free in their heads…kinda like them and Penn St live in yours. Lol.

We're in 133 and the handful of WVU fans that had tickets there were most cool. There were a couple of drunken young rowdy stooges in the row in front of us and in the last 4 minutes they tried to start a few fights and got surrounded by Pitt fans and reasonable WVU fans trying to get them to calm the F*ck down. THey were escorted out.

I won't play the numbers game, but there were way more than anyone would like to admit at both games. I sit on the home side and was looking to celebrate with Pitt fans after the game but nearly everyone around me was a WVU fan and got up to leave after Pitt scored.
What section on the home side? There were definitely less than 10,000 overall and hardly any in our Pitt side section.

Wait I saw a 75 year old chanting ESP yesterday....were we in the the same physical space? lol

What they seem to completely miss is that that chant says absolutely nothing about Pitt, and a whole lot about them.
