How the hell is the Louisville VB match on Friday…

I disagree. I subscribe to ESPN+ (through my Hulu/Disney+ account) and have watched several Pitt Volleyball games, as well as Pitt wrestling matches, on ACCNx as a result. So your comment about "literally probably isnt 1 person subscribing ..." is no longer true

Again, not understanding. I meant there isn't one person paying to subscribe to ESPN+ tonight specifically for this ONE game.

How the hell is the Louisville VB match on Friday…

Well, there is at least one person subscribing to see it. Me. The only reason I pay for ESPN + is to see Pitt teams: volleyball, soccer, baseball and softball. Still, this match belongs on ESPN.
mike412: I hadn't read this thread before seeing your comment. Me, too. The only reason I have ESPN+ (through a Hulu/Disney+ bundle) is to watch the Pitt games that aren't on ACCN or the other ESPN main channels (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, et al)

No. There literally probably isnt 1 person subscribing to ESPN+ specifically to watch this event. They do soccer on Friday nights. Regular season volleyball ratings are very low. This isnt hard to comprehend. These are non-revenue sports we are talking about.

Penn State Shows It's Devious Side...Again.

Optics aren't great but the self importance of media members cracks me up.

"Hey guys, we aren't going to talk about this on-going legal thing"
*Asks about it*
"We aren't going to talk about it"
*Asks about it*

What's the end goal? Lol
Well, Franklin has a spotty history with sexual assault issues with his players. They just glazed over the locker room "group" sex act and it faded into the ether. Just saying, "we aren't going to talk about it" is a huge cop-out.

Like....
"Guys, we can't really go into specifics and I have the same details you do. Let the legal process play out. I do want to make it clear that we don't condone any of that stuff that's being alleged and I won't tolerate any sort of violence against other students by our players. I don't care who you are or how much you play. We just aren't going to put up with it. That's just not the Penn State way."

It's really simple to shut reporters up and look good doing it. Blows my mind that a noted BS artist like Franklin can't just do that.

OT: Bronny

I was surprised they put him on the roster. I figured he'd go to the G-league and then they'd call him up from time to time.

I'm guessing, and it is just a guess, that they put him on the roster at the beginning of the season specifically so that he could play a couple games with his father, maybe assist his one of his dad's baskets and get an assist from his dad. And then once they get all those firsts out of the way they will announce that they are sending him down so that he can get some playing time and develop his game.

If they sent him down right away everyone would keep asking, when are we going to see Bronny, when will Bronny get to play with his dad, and all that. Now that part of it is over, and perhaps at some point the actual basketball will take over.

Blind resume

It matters to Vegas. It shouldn't matter when picking a tournament unless used as a tiebreaker. Stength of record is the best tool. Its your record relative to your SOS. And this looks about right with PSU #5 and Pitt #9. Honestly, I do not think Pitt is only 4 spots worse than PSU but we have the same record vs very similar teams. I hate when I hear but this team is blowing people out. So what. That's for the gamblers and I said we can use it for an 8th tiebreaker between 2 teams. The goal is to win the game by 1.

No matter how many times you say it, the committees (basketball and football) are NOT charged with picking the teams with the best resumes, they are charged with picking the best teams. And you can't do that, in either sport, without looking at margin of victory.

If you want proof of that you don't need to look back any further than last year. If all they were looking at was resumes then Florida State clearly and obviously belonged in the playoff. But they don't just look at resumes, they look at which was the better team. And that that moment it was also clearly and obviously not Florida State.

And the funny thing is that you claim to think that it should be only about the resumes and that the better team shouldn't enter into it, and yet you also, many many times, proclaim that they made the correct choice last year when they left out Florida State. Because it is abundantly clear that you have really firm convictions about some things, right up until the exact second when you decide that you think exactly the opposite. And which in no way means that you won't flip back at a moment's notice.

How the hell is the Louisville VB match on Friday…

No. You still dont get it. Only 1000-2000 of those people made specific plans to watch the game. The other 53K people just happened to be on their couch at that time and were flipping around and decided to watch volleyball. How dont you understand this?

Also, the college football games that it was up against last year were awful: Tulane/Memphis and Fresno State/Utah.
Right, right. Your anecdotal nonsense and logical fallacies always trump reality. Those weren't even the football games that were on so it makes perfect sense that we should believe your off the cuff arguments.
