Pitt is in 2nd place in the ACC, if I had told you on Nov 1st that Pitt would be in 2nd place in the ACC on Jan 14th you would have been giddy.

If the NCAA tournament were held today we would be IN. If I had told you on Nov 1st that on January 14th we would be on pace to make the NCAA tournament you would have been giddy.

If I had told you on Nov 1st that we would be 5 and 2 in the ACC on Jan 14th with our only 2 losses being extremely competitive losses to an undefeated (in theACC) Clemson and AT Duke you would have laughed me off the board. But you would have been giddy if you knew it would actually happen.

And if I told you that we would do all of this without John Hugley, I would have been called a blue and gold lense capel apologist with delusions of grandeur.

But here we are. And there are way too many people fearing some huge drop as we head to the top. Could it happen? Of course it could. But Xavier Johnson and trey mcgowens aren't on this team. There's no reason to feel it's inevitable.

It's been 7 long years. It's been miserable. It has been so unfun. For goodness sake enjoy this ride. This is a fun team that plays together and is easy to root for. Every game is huge and has meaning. Don't we all know well enough how miserable it is NOT to have that.

Does anyone who signed up for Steel City NIL have thoughts on switching over to Alliance 412? I’m trying to figure out the difference between the two, other than the 20% cut that Steel City takes. Is Steel City strictly football whereas Alliance 412 goes to other sports as well?

This is all new and confusing to me and I want to make sure I’m using the best avenue to do my part (as little as it will be as I’m a recent grad).

Man that loss 75-74 stings. They just beat number 15 Arkansas 97-84. They are still a .500 team and 7th in the SEC. But a win then would have been really helpful for in the tourney. Dang.

How many do we need to win to stay near the bubble for the NCAA tourney out of the next three games. I don’t understand that whole Quad thing.

Looking over seasons stats, player stats, and team records makes me think there is no way we lose to Louisville.

But I don’t want to discount FSU as a sure win. They played Purdue tough, Virginia tough both times.

Wake forest is pretty similar to us statistically and they have been competitive. They beat Duke, Wisconsin, Duke. And lost to UNC by 11. And then shoot close to 40 percent as a team from 3pt range which is our defensive weakness.

I was planning on winning the next 3 but and we may but I don’t think it will be easy to pull off those next three critical games as I thought before digging down a little.

I will qualify this by disclosing that I am not a physicist. However, am I insane, or does a QB sneak with two guys pushing him from behind not make more sense than, well, pretty much anything else? Like, it was formerly outlawed - that is how advantageous it is.

It makes me want to put my head through a wall when I continually see teams running sweeps, other off-tackle plays, handing the ball to a back who is 5-yards deep, etc. on 4th and a freaking foot.

When a school makes an offer in the portal, does this have to be declared anywhere? It appears that the high school offers are announced but is there an equal tally for the portal? All schools need to be active w/ the transfer portal, however it seems even more important to schools like Pitt that don't typically garner many 4 Stars out of HS. Certain positions that are tough to recruit, like TE can be a portal focus.

Really curious to know which schools are talking to these kids and what our chances look like. Georgia has 2 TE's a LB, DT and CB that would probably look great in blue and gold but who knows if we're talking to these kids?

It can be a good offense if we get Reynolds and or Cephus but what is the latest on them ?

Stephen Gertz mentioned in one of his breakdowns that we use the Spain PnR. It a really tough offense to guard. I thought I would post a video that explains it. Watch got it during our next game. We run it a lot.
