It's next Friday at 5 p.m. I expect this coming week to have some in-practice wrestle-offs that will decide the matchups for this event. What matchups/weights do you guys want to see?
My most anticipated:
How they handle 125, Seeing Ant hopefully wrestle, the 157/165 situation, How Kranitz looks

Anywhere from 3rd to 5th is reasonable. NCST and VT are the class of the conference and clear 1-2. Us, UNC and Stanford will be competing for the 3rd to 5th spot. UVA and Duke are the clear bottom two.

Anyone else remember before we joined the ACC some people on this Board were wondering if we would wrestle in the ACC or continue to wrestle in the EIWA because the ACC was such a weak conference? Then VT hired Tom Brands and NC State hired Pat Popolizio. How times have changed!

I always like getting a chance to see some of the new guys wrestling in the blue gold match. Most interested to see 125, 157 and 165. Feel most other weights have clear guy at the weight.

125 - Babin with edge over Tallmadge
Early match Chappell vs Villareal or redshirt Limbert

133 - Vinnie starter. Match vs redshirt Simon?

141 - Anthony starter. Competive match vs Priest. Would like to see redshirt Brown also.

149 - Solomon starter.

157 - Evans vs Keslar round 2 of blue gold. I’m leaning Evans this year.

165 - MacKay vs Laffey. Competitive match. Leaning towards MacKay

174 - Augustine starter. Any 174 for a match?

184 - Heller starter. Match vs redshirt Krantiz

197 - Stout starter. Match?

285 - Pitzer starter. Match?

My guess we see Stout or Pitzer not both.

Interesting notes:
No match at 157, seems like Evans is the de facto guy at that weight
125: Babin has the closest thing to a 1 seed and it looks like Babin Chappell will be the final. No Tallamadge is interesting and I am curious to see what that means. I am leaning towards it being him taking a planned redshirt but there could also be issues with making 125 or even a last minute injury.
165: No MacKay is really interesting, wonder if he is injured. I would expect Keslar to beat out Laffey in the final of that weight. Like that every weight from 174 up has a match. Heller-Kranitz could be good the other’s wont last long IMO. I like the 149lb matchups, Swaim is a hard worker that I like to see getting a shot at the Fitz. Brown at 149 is interesting and I am wondering how he will look. My most anticipated match is the 141, I can’t wait to see how Ant looks compared to Priest

Big news is Kade Brown beat Pletcher 15-4 then beat Solomon 4-2. He looked amazing in both matches and outscrambled Solomon everytime he got close to scoring. He scored a super clean shot and finish

Babin won 12-4 over Limbert and 15-1 over Marlow (Who beat Chappell 5-1). He seems to be the 125 pending whatever is going on with Tallamadge

Laffey beat De La Pena 5-2 and then beat Keslar 4-2. Wonder what him vs MacKay looks like

Reece Heller beat Kranitz 4-1. It was a super close match

Anthony Santaniello looked really good. He was up 6-1 early in the first with two really good tds. He ended up winning 9-4 getting 2 escapes and a riding time point after that. Priest was gritty and stayed in it. Santaniello looked to be the more tired of the two in the third

Watching tonight has me excited for the season. Feel they are improved at nearly every weight class. Either a new starter or a young guy a year older.

They already have Kranitz as an option at 184 next year too. Starting to accrue some real depth at some of these weights

Brown was down at 138 last HS season and the extra 10lbs plus training in the college room seems to have seriously jumped him up a few levels. Super excited for next Saturday's dual and the Clarion Open the next day. Really curious what the lineup against Navy looks like

I would guess he still redshirts. However I could see him starting vs Navy depending on how the 5 competitions rule works with that and the Clarion Open. If he wants to go this year with no redshirt they will use his 5 dates to get a judge of where he is compared to Finn and go from there
