Alabama in Pittsburgh yesterday, offered Ford, Wade and met with

Jesus Christ, first psu fans coming over here spewing nonsense now we got ala-freakin-bama fans coming over to talk about bowl games from 8 years ago.. Great, just what I always wanted to talk about..
-He won't even post the teams or stats. Ruben Brown isn't even in the hall yet and has 9 Pro bowls. That's the funny part. Pitt absolutely dominates.

-Here's a fun stat

-The Top 3 RB's in Pitt history have over 34,000 yards in the NFL.

-No other college combining their Top 3 RB 's together can break 30,000, including the great USC.

-You dont even want to see Notre Dame and Alabama, who are embarrassed on the All time great running lists.

Any word on what you'd rather have, a program with 8 HOF players all time that has won the National Championship 4 times in the past 7 years or a program with the same amount of HOF players all time, but goes to the Compass Bowl or Armed Forces Bowl every year? Just want to clear something up.

Here's one for you -

Super Bowl rings by starting QB
Notre Dame - 4
Alabama - 4
Michigan - 4

You'd be embarrassed to see where Pitt is on this.

-I see, so Super bowl championships value how good a single player is. Right....

-You arent a Pitt fan.

-I guess that makes all the non Super Bowl Champions junk.

-With that said, the Pittsburgh Steelers are king, with 6. Now try to use your favorite NFL team to dispute that.

If you're looking at QB, rings most certainly does play a huge part in it. That's why most people consider Montana, Brady, Manning, Elway, and Favre the top 5 all time at the position.

Jurkovec.

That's one program you never want to see sniffing around your backyard.
If Wafflehouse can locate in Chambersburg PA I guess Alabama can recruit in Pittsburgh.
Those pesky GPS units otherwise they'd have trouble finding Pittsburgh.

-I can only imagine if Dan Marino played for the San Francisco 49ers with Jerry Rice. I can only imagine.

-You arent going to tell me next Larry Fitzgerald isnt an Elite WR, are you, since he plays for one of the worst franchises in NFL history, the Arizona Cardinals? The funny thing is, Fitzgerald has played with more QB's then you have fingers to count on, and is still breaking NFL records, and will be breaking Rice's records.

Do you watch the NFL? Fitzgerald had a borderline HOF QB throwing to him in Warner, now a very solid Carson Palmer. The Cardinals have been pretty good over the past ten years.

MVK should start up his own thread, post all his thoughts on Alabama. That way, if I am ever thinking about sticking a sharp knife into my neck to end my life but I need motivation, I can read it and that will help me follow thru..

-Kurt Warner wasnt a full time starter in Arizona until 2008. He was a full time starter for 2 seasons in Arizona.

If you don't want to read about Alabama then you probably shouldn't click on the thread with Alabama in the title.

-This thread has become pointless.

Onto Pitt sports

-The Pens are 12 wins away from a Stanley Cup.

-The Pirates and Steelers are favorites to compete for a Championship

-Pitt basketball will be in the NCAA Tournament next year

-Pitt football is going to win at least 8 games next year

Times are good, except if you arent a Pitt fan.

-Look for MVK to hijack this post with how great Alexander Ovechkin is.

I'll tell you what I'd rather have.... I'd rather you leave and take your obsessive argumentative style with you... You're being nothing short of an a$$hole...

Well this thread ran off the rails pretty quickly.

Any kid playing HS football now would be pumped to get an offer from Alabama. They are the current gold standard.

Pitt's all time team being great has nothing to do with Alabama currently being the elite program nationally.. It's just conflating issues.

NAME THE ALL TIME TEAM FOR ANOTHER SCHOOL. NOW.

Notre Dame can match Pitt with HOF position by position, starting with Joe Montana, Paul Hornung, and Jerome Bettis. If you don't realize how much talent Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, and Michigan have put into the NFL and Hall of Fame, then there is no helping you.

What bowl did Pitt go to in 2007, this thread was dealing with Alabama (defending National Champions) coming into the WPIAL to recruit players. Why not compare success of the programs?
Martin and Dorsett are better than Bettis and Hornung.

LOL yeah who needs non-homer views on which program is better in a thread started about Alabama?

Wrong... Quite frankly, I agree that Alabama has been superior not only to Pitt, but most of college football.

You have already expressed your opinion and presented your facts. Now be a big boy and let it go. Saying another team is superior to Pitt on a Pitt message board over and over again will gain you nothing but enemies... Move on from this subject...

Martin and Dorsett are better than Bettis and Hornung.

-They only amassed 34,000 yards in the NFL running and receiving with 190 TD's. No other run duo in NFL history can touch these 2 and it isnt even close. We wont even mention McCoy at this point.

Just google it, bro.

How's that Pitt vs Alabama success over past 30 years going for you?
Pitt's problem the past 30 years is they tried to de emphasize football for academics, Ed Bozik started this. Alabama did the opposite, they could care less about academics and football is religion.

-That's fine and dandy. The point is Pitt has produced more Elite Talent then any other college football program in the country, bar NONE in the NFL, the pinnacle of football.

-Our track record backs it up.

-Whitehead is on his way to becoming Elite in the NFL. Ford will do the same. If Lamont Wade wants to go to Penn State, good luck on his NFL future. He will need it, 10 fold.
Even if everyone agreed with you on that, what if we went 2 deep? What about a 53 man roster? Moreover, it doesn't matter. What matters is what the current staff can sell as their results and the likelihood they put a 2016 or 2017 or 2018 recruit in the pros, not what a different staff did 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 years ago.

Absolutely idiotic argument or way to puff your chest. What matters for Pitt is winning college football games.

Not sure if you knew this but they have a pretty good football program there. As crazy as it sounds, good football players may find that sort of thing appealing.

That said, Foster really is a good cautionary tale for WPIAL kids that get stars in there eyes. Contrast his career with Boyd's or Whitehead's and you'd think the smart kid will take the safe money most of the time. When these kids get down to spring or fall camp in Tuscaloosa for the first time they are immediately confronted by a level of athlete they've never seen before-and that's just in their own position groups. You go from The Man in WPA to just another guy fighting for football survival real quick.
I'd wait until this year is over. He could win another national championship and may even be drafted before Boyd.

Like I said In Alabama football is religion, why else would a Bama fan troll the Pitt board. Watch what you say to mvk he may come up here and kill all the 200 year old trees out of spite.

Boyd is coming out this year in case you haven't heard. Foster will be fighting for playing time behind the other 3 big time receivers they have.

I'm well aware Tyler Boyd is likely to be a 2nd-4th round pick this year and Foster is at Bama for another year. I am also aware he figures to be their #2 WR and be drafted next year with a good year.

You're talking to the wrong poster.
SteelCurtain needs to take this to the national board, but I don't want everyone to think we're a bunch of idiots as he's laughed off the board.

-I already took it there, twice.

-In fact I challenged Florida and Florida State combined to take on Pitts all time team. I won as they threw the towel in.

Lol......I'm sure

-Every Player on Pitt's starting offense has at least 4 NFL Pro Bowls (except the #2 WR) and is in the College Football Hall of Fame, NFL Hall of Fame, or both Hall of Fames.

-Dont go there with me, you will lose like they did.

Doubtful, if I were inclined to keep arguing with a child. But, I think it's time to follow my wife's advice in dealing with our arguementative little kids and ignore.
