Next 7 games are against teams with RPIs worse than 150.

I feel Pitt need to go 6-1 in this stretch, no worse than 5-2.

One of the sites that does a baseball bracketology not only did not have us in this week, they didn't have us as one of the first eight out either. They did have the Hoopies as a first eight out, so that helps a little. They had 10 ACC (and SEC) teams in the field, so we will have lots of chances. But they can't afford many slip ups against teams like Virginia Tech, Youngstown State, Miami (the Ohio version) and Maryland Eastern Shore. Losing games like that will kill a team that has a record not very far above .500.

The record just isnt good enough right now at 15-13. If we go 6-1 in the next 7, we are at 21-14 with an RPI at about 20. We'd surely be in at that point but still with a lot of season left to play our way out.

Yeah, seriously, that isn't going to happen. Or even come close to happening. Fortunately that isn't what is needed.

How many college baseball teams ever go on a 24 game winning streak, let alone one that plays in a league as good as the ACC? None, that's how many.

We have to keep the bad losses to a minimum (YSU, MD-Eastern Shore midweek & Miami-OH series) and win some games in our series vs ND and Miami (FL) to have some hope. Plus we'll have an opportunity to help ourselves in the ACC tournament.
