I’ll buy a round if you go to the lawrenceville oneBingo. Some day your memory will fail you. Of course, I don't make notes!!!
Fun to watch the kids grow up a bit tonight. Never made it to North Park Lounge....there are 3 of them.

I'm not sure what makes 6-8 a particularly "magic" number. Chevy was 6-7 and was very good playing both the 4 and 5. Actually, he was 6-5 1/2. He told me so himself. Ontario was listed at 6-6 and was an All-Big East Center (and he was actually 6-4 1/2). We already know that Dejuan was an All-American Center at 6-6 1/2. Bonzie Coulson was an All-American power forward at 6-5.
Justin can be a really excellent power forward at 6-6 is he gets stronger.
We need better players in the post, but it's not really a question of hitting the "6-8 threshold" in my opinion.
Case in point ... our tallest and longest player is Terrell Brown at 6-11.

I have no disagreement with you. However, these guys are exceptions not the norm in college hoops. They all played bigger than their height because they had other physical attributes that compensated for their relative lack of height for the position they played. Big Fella, for example, in addition to great strength had extra long arms that gave him the wingspan and reach of a 6-10 player.
Wow, you are such a douche.Capel knows he’s made of tissue paper -
So treats him delicately
Cant argue. Was shocked to see that probably his career best game was as a frosh with 19-8-2. I thought his stat line against Cuse last year was better than it actually was. So maybe 10-8-2 should be the better aspiration. Most points he has had in a game this season is 8, most rebounds is 4, so fantasy might be at play. Or alcohol?
You ever sniff glue? It’s a bitch manDude.....it is something a lot stronger than glue. More like using crack.
Width, determination and quickness is way more important than heightThe best example at Pitt was Jerome Lane.
6'4" and led the Big East in rebounding... and was pulling down 15-to-20 boards many nights.
My point is that there is no particular magic threshold at 6-8. Let's just get better players. A good 6-6 is better than a not as good 6-8. Bigger does not mean better. Better means better.
It is not that black and white. Hamilton is a great kid, but a temporary patch, and not exactly Oscar T.Because he really doesn’t matter to our success
Hamilton is a far better player
I noticed that too. He's done similar with Coulibaly on occasion, too, even when he doesn't pop in the stat sheet. So why did Coach Capel single him out in his locker room speech to the team
A big butt and /or brute strength helps . Pitts best inside players through the yrs have been around 6’6”I'm not sure what makes 6-8 a particularly "magic" number. ya kinda feel bad for him young guy going bald already. He should just shave it. I’m always interested in how his hair looks and notice when he gets a haircut. Is that weird?
It was me that said Hamilton, a mid-major reserve, sight unseen would be better than Brown. I know hoops.
We could have asked any five year old kid who would be better, the new player or the player who is not very good, and they would have given the same opinion.
Everyone disagreed with me.
How is that possible?
In a WIN, no less.
Nope.
Clearly a capable big is our biggest weakness. I would be glad if we had a Torrie Morris on the team at this point. And that is not an insult to Torrie. He would be a starter on this team, but it just shows how good we were then. Also, if you followed anything about Torrie's life it is sad where he is at now or at least a few years ago.
Ryan Murphy - with a combover and 6’2” had 4 rebounds
I hadn't heard anything about Torree. What happened?
I think everyone probably agrees that you need to get back on your medication.Everyone disagreed with me.
His defense was not very good, either .Even after a big win, a douche laden thread emerges
He did some decent things to help the team. There is defense and playing off the ball ya know. Maybe this is why kids make plays like X made against WF...have to cater to people that judge them
Again - great win
Everyone disagreed with me.
Don't mean to be rude, but I don't know how anyone can still "hope" Brown gets better. Probably a nice kid, but he is not a basketball player, and I've been saying it since his freshman year. I've coached ball for 20 years, and you can't teach someone how to catch a ball, to anticipate when they have no spacial awareness, to overcome slow foot speed in short space, to turn on their motor. Kids that don't do these things well but have ability to do them well can be taught, and you can see great improvement, but sadly, Brown's ability in all of these areas is very low.Brown will have some stinkers. Brown will have some 15-12-5 games where we think he’s nba bound. Seems to just be who he is right now.
If he ever becomes consistent, we are a MUCH better team, so hope it happens.
His production appears to be worse this year.It is not that black and white. Hamilton is a great kid, but a temporary patch, and not exactly Oscar T.
I took some heat last year for the honest assessment of Brown (that many shared), and we are seeing that he is the limited guy he appeared to be last year.
He is who he is, but they will win more games this year if he finds a way to tune in and use his size as it can be used in a few games.
The options, especially this year are so limited, we have to hope that he CAN have some games where he has a pulse because that might be the difference in them being able to win a few more games.
That doesn't mean you know hoops. It was me that said Hamilton, a mid-major reserve, sight unseen would be better than Brown. I know hoops.

As the saying goes " Stevie wonder could see that ".
TB should be a D2 or lower D1 Conf.
I think he would be an all-conference player in the NEC
I think he should transfer to RMU. He'd be a 7 foot center going up against teams who's biggest players are 6'8". Still wouldn't get rebounds but could get a lot of blocks and some easy baskets.
Capel is a straight shooter. At the same time he was critical of Browns first half. Then he talked about ways that he impacted the game in the 2nd half. And make no mistake, Brown had a positive impact on how we outscored UNC by 17 in the 2nd half. What Capel is trying to do is get complete games out of TB. Just as Capel isn’t shallow when looking at the state line, I refuse to do the same.Capel knows he’s made of tissue paper -
So treats him delicately
