Duke Game Thread

Yes, it is. If you are out of bounds and I throw the ball off of you it is out of bounds off of you. Because you touched the ball while you were out of bounds. Which you are not allowed to do.

Interesting. I thought it hitting a player who is out of bounds was the equivalent of it hitting the ground out of bounds and it was basically a question of who last touched it while it was still a live ball.

Nope. The ball is live until it hits the guy who is out of bounds, and he's the person who made it be out of bounds.

fikipowski moves his feet and holds the guy on defense. How the hell does he get away with it!?!?

It's similar to the football rule. When the ball touches someone who is out of bounds that's when the ball is out of bounds.

Yeah, I 100% agree on that part. It's a dead ball immediately. But that's not what I'm arguing. I'm saying that throwing at a player who is out of bounds is the same as throwing it at the white line. And the Duke player was the one who threw it out of bounds (it just so happens that out of bounds was extended in this case by virtue of a player protruding over the line).

On the last time it happened the Duke player's foot came down out of bounds before he threw the ball off of Lowe. That one should have been Pitt's ball.

Yeah I was looking at my phone and only caught the tail end of it. Would have validated my previous argument if they were referring to Lowe's foot being down! Haha (not saying I was right; I just don't agree with the rule).
