Sagarin after yesterday's games.

Regular Rating--BC by less than 1/2 point (0.34)
Predictor Rating--Pitt by less than 1/4 point (0.22)
Golden Mean Rating--BC by 1.3 points
Recent Games Rating--BC by 3.14 points

ESPN gives Pitt a 55.1% likelihood of winning

vs
BC a 44.9% likelihood of winning.

Haven't seen any other ratings/odds/predictions. But it does pretty much look like a toss-up game!

Would sure like to see us pick up that one more win. A final record of 14-19 (4-16 ACC) would look a lot better than last season's 8-24 (0-19). Even 13-19 (3-16 ACC) looks like good progress over last season.

It all depends upon how Trey plays. If he builds off of yesterday’s performance I like their chances. Throw in a good game my JWF and I like their chances. Yesterday’s game was important

I don’t want to put too much stock in winning or losing Tuesday- but agree that a win and at least a competitive showing vs Syracuse would certainly be tangible evidence that this season was more than just a nominal improvement over last year.

Neither BC nor Syracuse seem to be entering the tournament with much positive energy- hopefully Pitt can capitalize.

Yeah--maybe the ND win will have boosted confidence enough to give these guys a lift.

We did pretty well against blonde haired iso-cam last time. I think defense will undoubtedly decide this one. We have more than enough athleticism to defend this team well and hopefully our guys got some energy and confidence from the ND win. Can we raise our defensive compete level for the tournament? I think that will be the difference and I am not sure of the answer.

Even so, we are going to need Trey to be the man again. We go as he goes. He has alot of ability and now he has some confidence again. He and XJ will be the two best athletes on the floor in this game. However, they are not yet the best basketball players in this game. Having said that, I have seen some growth lately on their parts. They are forcing less, yet remaining aggressive. We need them to not only be the best athletes, we need them to be the best basketball players. I think this tournament might just bring the best out of both of them. We shall see......

If they do that iso-cam split screen again, I am switching the channel and watch bowling!

I swear, I am!

Exactly! Trey needs to play well for us to have a chance at a win.

Lol! That was aggravating as hell, and to make matters worse, every time they went to that look, he either turned it over or missed a shot. Just awful on ESPN's part.

I like our chances simply because it is at a neutral site rather than in Boston. I think that makes it an even game with Pitt overdue to get some key breaks.

Yes. That is what the Sagarin numbers suggest—a toss-up on a neutral site.

BC would be at least a 3 point in Boston and Pitt would be about a 2-3 point favorite if it were at the Pete.

Will slightly disagree with this, as all homecourts aren’t created equal and Pitt home advantage carries a little more weight than BC’s.

Sagarin numbers can’t be relied on quite as much in conference tournaments, as books are forced to come up with numbers involving the same teams in a much shorter window of time during tournament play. Consequently you will see a lot more movement on many of these games than you did in the regular season, especially on totals.

Conference tournament season is usually a boon for wiseguys, who have been honing their power ratings all season and are ready to fire on the openers, the books are forced to scramble a little as they’re not prepared to have to put up numbers so quickly. It’s about as inefficient as the CBB market gets as any point in the season.

Neutral court after a close loss. Sounds like an advantage. However, Popovic didn’t play for them last time, and he is a tough matchup. This is an even game and will depend on Pitt’s limiting TOs, shooting at least decently and rebounding. Defense will do its job. Predicting a close win for Pitt.

Yep exactly

Get ready for the Ky Bowman show. At least as far as the announcers are concerned. If it starts like the last time I definitely will be using the mute button!

I will answer my own question: It is a resounding YES!

In addition, Trey and XJ dominated. Do they have more for Tomorrow? I think the competitive Juices in these two are flowing abundantly. Don't rule out some more exceptional play, even against a zone!

Gotta give this telecast some props though. No Bowman cam and the announcers were not fawning all over him like the last time we played him(different announcers though).

It was most definitely the Ky Bowman show in the 1st half.

Yeah - they were showing Pitt lots of love. Let’s face it— national announcers are front runners. Your team plays well - they’ll get lots of attention from the broadcast.

LaPhonso Ellis even crowded in on the Bowman NBA scout talk to talk about how the NBA scouts really like X too.

Even got a Hail to Pitt from Reece.
