Franklin exposed; impact for Pitt

Very true and accurate, everyone knows he wanted to go to the NFL and he took the job without knowing they would get Sanctions and stayed and did his job.

But O'Brien absolute hate tirade about being at Penn State and how he feel unappreciated and had nothing but contempt for their Fans that he gave to Dave Jones that night was clearly more honest, straight forward, and far more real than anything can say about going to the NFL. The same vile bile is still there and Franklin will get that too.

Additionally, nothing caused more hate in O'Brien when Jay Paterno went to SI and undermined his Coaching & Changes, and that is what Joe Paterno was known for to when he wanted someone out or wanted to attack a competitor he hated like Sherrill and others?

Jay and the Paterno's are still there and still have Lawsuits and will not be Franklin Fans when and if he stumbles, and no matter what, Sue wants Jay for that Head Coaching Job.

The Trustees, President Barron, AD Barbour, all on in battles with with the divisions at the University and have had to remain silent
to keep their jobs, the place has more land mines from a dead men than his legacy that only lives in Unhappy Valley today.

It is like Moses and the Israelite's that have to wonder 40 Years in the Desert until the older Penn State Cultists created by Paterno dies away? It might take 40 years, but Franklin like Aaron will be under the gun to win big sooner not later?
Franklin is a minority, and you know how that fanbase LOVES minorities. Just look at how they talk down to us because we have an urban campus.

Even if Penn St's recruiting were to suffer as a result of them sucking...it isn't Pitt who will benefit. It will be the Ohio St.'s and such. It's not like most of these kids are deciding between Pitt and Penn St.

Miles Sanders would stay at home and play for PITTsburgh! Cant wait to see OSU destroy Pedo U!

Yup..., as in the case is Hamlin, it will come down to Pitt and Ohio St, not Pitt vs Penn State.... Hamlin to Pitt....Penn State will be the big loser....

Yup, soon Franklin will get racist hate mail like Robinson did when he played QB for PSU....

Haha... Huh??? Almost every local recruit battle is Pitt / pen state

Nice try at a new handle irncty ... Lol good lord

Watching tOSU on television reveals how freakin' deep they are at so many positions. If a kid wants to play early and it's between tOSU and Pitt, well.....

New handle? I've been irncty for years.

All I'm saying is that most of the recruits Penn State has landed in the last two years have not come down to just Pitt/PennSt. Sure...maybe Pitt gets 1 or 2 kids. It's not like all the highly rated Penn St. commits are now going to choose Pitt.

Another thing you may want to factor into the equation....Penn St. may go 5-7 but the recruits aren't going to be overly impressed with a 7-5 Pitt program. They'll go to some other program.

You are overly impressed and trolling a PITTsburgh site!

I also doubt Ped St can win 5 games this year when everyone had Temple in as a W. Your line stinks and Sackenberg gets worse with each game!

Sanders has to be thinking of running behind our OL. His stiff arm looks a little bit like JCs!

Ollison felt right at Pitt

Chris Peak

Talk about it in Between Fifth And Forbes

Qadree Ollison's last recruiting visit turned out to be the most important one, as the Buffalo (NY) Canisius running back followed up his trip to Pitt last week with a commitment to the Panthers on Monday.

"When I went on my visit there, it just felt like a really good place to be," Ollison told Panther-Lair.com Monday night. "It's a place I could look forward to living for the next four years or potentially the rest of my life.

"And I had a nice relationship with the coaches from early on; that was a major deciding factor."

Ollison was recruited to Pitt by Desmond Robinson, and he also developed a strong connection with head coach Paul Chryst. So when it came time to make his commitment, Ollison placed a call to Robinson.

"I knew [Sunday]," he said. "I thought about it and prayed about it, and that was the choice that I came up with. So I called the coaches [Sunday] night and talked to Coach Robinson and Coach Chryst. They were excited and happy that I committed.

"The coaches at Pitt really care so much about the player as a person rather than just as a player. Education is really important and they have a family-type of atmosphere when you're there. And that's from the University and the city, too, not just the football team."

As a junior in 2012, Ollison rushed for 1,865 yards and 26 touchdowns, and he started his 2013 season in style Friday night with 195 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. At 6'1" 220, Ollison doesn't look like a typical running back, but he said the Pitt coaches see him in a traditional role and he is confident that he can do it.

"They said they see me as being a tailback, a guy who can play first, second and third down and not just a one-down back," Ollison said. "I've heard people say I'll be a fullback, but I don't pay attention to what other people think. That's their opinion; I know what I'm capable of and I'm confident in my abilities.

"I see myself as an all-around running back. I can power over people and outrun people when I get to the second level."

Ollison picked Pitt over offers from Penn State, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Syracuse, Boston College, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Nevada and Temple. Pitt and Penn State were his top two schools before he opted for the Panthers.

He is the second running back to commit to Pitt in the class of 2014, joining Shady Side Academy's Dennis Briggs, but the coaching staff will look to sign at least one more back from the group of Shai McKenzie, Chris James, Robert Martin and C.J. Leggett.

With Ollison on board, Pitt now has 17 commitments in the class of 2014.

PSU does not need to worry about Ohio State Michigan and Iowa....they need to worry...yes worry about Buffalo...Rutgers...and Maryland....that's where it is....

Buffalo is no gimmie....Army is no gimmie.....PSU looks like an absolute bad joke.....

Buffalo and army??? If those aren't gimmies then they don't have any!

As much as a lot of us would love to see it, there ain't no way that Nit U loses to Buffalo and/or Army. If that happens, they'd better put armed guards and barbed wire around the coach's house...maybe even a moat - with piranha.

Really. This coach and staff will impress them with all of the right things. Not snake oil like that James from state college.

He has a DAMN GOOD track record. If you have Vandy friends, then they are smart enough to know that NOBODY will take them further than James Franklin did. Never. It can't be done at Vanderbilt.

Enough with this nonsense...

The guy has never, ever beaten anyone GOOD!! EVER!

Now, he is losing to Temple... With a roster loaded with 4 star players! Lol

LMAO! So is Derek Mason going to take them further?

NOBODY can take Vandy further. Nobody ever has in the modern era. It won't be done in our lifetime. Take that to the bank. It is impossible to have any sustained success at Vanderbilt. Its also impossible to win at a high level. It will never be done.

Well, I live in Nashville, I have yet to meet anyone that liked James Franklin here. They think he disgraced the team, put them into a rape mess and and left for the money. Their weak schedule that allowed them to win a few games means nothing to the Vandy fans who pride themselves on being the top academic school in the south.

OK, there are some people wrongfully saying Franklin ruled at Vandy here are the stats

2013
Ole Miss VanderbiltL 35–39
Austin Peay* Vanderbilt • W 38–3
at #13 South Carolina StadiumL 25–3
at Massachusetts* Gillette W 24–7
UAB* Vanderbilt• W 52–24
Missouri
Dagger-14-plain.png
Vanderbilt • L 28–51
#15 Georgia Vanderbilt • W 31–27
at #14 Texas A&M Kyle FieldL 24–56
at Florida StadiumW 34–17
Kentucky Vanderbilt Stadium • SECTV W 22–6
at Tennessee Neyland W 14–10
Wake Forest* Vanderbilt• W 23–21

Franklin was 1-4 against teams with winning records. The record of ALLthe teams they beat?
25-72!!!!! That isnt a misprint... There OOC schedule?? Austin Peay 0-12, UMass - 1-11 and UAB 2-10 and so bad their team folded. And a 4-8 Wake Forest team.
So, take that in... and throw in a horrible rape incident which 5 kids grouped raped a girl James Franklin hired to show a recruit around... Who would want that season??? Penn State of course is the only answer

2012
South Carolina Vanderbilt StadiumL 13–17
Northwestern* • L 13–23
(FCS) Presbyterian* Vanderbilt• W 58–0
at #5 Georgia Sanford Stadium L 3–48
at Missouri Faurot FieldW 19–15
#4 Florida Vanderbilt• L 17–31
Auburn Vanderbilt• W 17–13
Massachusetts*
Dagger-14-plain.png
Vanderbilt• W 49–7
at Kentucky Commonwealth StadiumW 40–0
at Ole Miss Vaught–Hemingway StadiumW 27–26
Tennessee Vanderbilt Stadium • Nashville, TN W 41–18
at Wake Forest* BB&T FieldW 55–21

total record for all teams they beat - 29-66 not good! Looks OK on paper, they beat Auburn, who was 3-9 this year, Tennessee who was 5-7 that year, Missou who was only 5-7 and of course mighty Presbyterian who was 2-9! They again went 1-4 against teams with a winning record

2011
Elon*W 45–14
Connecticut*W 24–21
Ole Miss W 30–7
at #12 South CarolinaL 3–21
#2 Alabama L 0–34
Georgia L 28–33
Army*
Dagger-14-plain.png
W 44-21
#8 Arkansas L 28–31
at FloridaL 21–26
Kentucky W 38–8
at Tennessee Neyland StadiumL 21–27 OT
at Wake Forest* W 41–7
vs. Cincinnati* L 24–31

Here is the great coaches first season, zero wins against teams with winning records as Ole Miss was 2-10 this year and Army 3-9, and 26-46 record for the teams they won against

0-7 against teams with winning records that year
So, total, James Franklin is 2-15 against teams with a winning record... 2-15! Not good at all.

Loaded Italian, Those records are AWESOME for Vanderbilt. Obviously you don't know much about Vanderbilt's football futility. They don't win games against teams with LOSING records. 6 wins at Vandy is a great year.

...And of course some of them hate on Franklin. He was the best thing they ever had and he left them.

How do you like Nashville, btw?

This one isn't hard to figure out. Look at PSU's offensive line recruiting since the scandal broke. It has been absolutely horrible. And across the roster, the senior and junior classes are really thin. You would have to count each and every true freshman to get the Nits up to a full roster of scholarship players. This is something that is going to take some good recruiting and a few years to overcome.

Was that a plea for sympathy?

TempleBAPittMPA, No. It is what it is and I don't care one way or the other. However, I am a huge fan of James Franklin and he isn't the guy that should be shouldering the blame for the Nits current sad state of affairs.

If anyone thinks for one second that O'Brien was not justified in being creeped out by the idolotry in Creep valley, let me remind you that the the 3 stooges have been awaiting trial since December of 2011......almost 4 years ago.
Still no date for trial in Dauphin County. The State Supreme court is now part of the delay on the ruling on whether Attorney Baldwin goofed up royally.....that issue has jumped off the page from day one.....
Justice delayed is justice denied.....if you want justice, you are not going to get it from a bunch of elected judges in central PA.....
If anyone cared enoug it would be a disgrace....but no one does....

If you want to receive e-mail updates on the "progress" (sic) of the case, you can do so by using this link....just don't hold your breath...

Franklin is a perfect fit for that hell hole.

To be fair, Pitt won't be able to judge Coach Pat & Staff until 2 to 3 years, and same with Franklin at Penn State, and the Holgrosen's Judgment Year for the Mountaineers is upon him this year, in my opinion.

However, the difference is Franklin bragged about Domination and has to back it up against OSU, Michigan, MSU, Maryland and beating Pitt 4 Years in a row?

Coach Narduzzi just needs to improve Pitt to 8 to 10 wins in the ACC and that is an easier Road to Hoe!

Coach Holgrosen has to win 9-10 games this year or next or will be gone?

All three Programs need to rebuild to compete in the ACC, Big Ten, and Big-12 now! Tough task all the way around?

This one isn't hard to fYou would have to count each and every true freshman to get the Nits up to a full roster of scholarship.
Really?
What team doesn't count freshman as roster numbers?

Maybe they did just shite the bed in a crappy first game in 90degree temps??? We'll see

But admit it , when Big Mouth goes all over this state with Nber ONE pointed in the air nearly in every photo...and blows it out constantly that he will DOMINATE... Well he looks like a horses pitute right now

This is yr two not one. He should have taken the returning starters and young players on the team from last yr who moved up...
And coached them up, forget the numbers

They beat temple last year didn't they?

I've seen it done with damn less talent than State College has right now you can bet that

paulbl99, So what if they had beaten Temple? What does it really matter in the big scheme of things. PSU sucks this year and they will be a horrible team to watch regardless if they win 4 or 8.
