Its a collective confidence thing. Artis and Young get frustrated inside. That leads to our guards settling for jumpers because they really can't slash. And if the jumpers aren't falling, that leads to easy transition baskets for the other guys and you find yourself down big.
Young 0 points, 0 rebounds, 1 turnover, and 0-4 shooting so far today ...... 26-19 FSU leads.
Competing against legitimate athletes in the ACC has really exposed this team.
I don't know.... Cuse, GT, and ND have "legitimate athletes" as much as NCSU and FSU do.
I've been isolating on Young the last few trips; he's looking disinterested and out of position
That's the weakness of the zone right there. Defend well for 30 seconds, give up an offensive rebound for a score.
NC state I would include with Tech, Cuse, and ND. IMO they all have much better hoops players than FSU.
Yeah pretty clear the zone is not going to help this team as they are just bad defensively. They could play man to man with 6 guys and they'd still struggle defensively. There's no way to mask that. Only thing they can do is hope they all miraculously figure out how to defend better.
Smith can hit the three He needs to take shots. Way too quiet last few games. 3 huge threes and a charge.
Not only is Young having a bad game, but it's time to admit that he is soft 4. Young might have some of the best shooting, ball handling skills we have had at 4 since Sam Young, but he is perhaps the softest 4 we have had. Nasir Robinson and Kendall had so much more toughness and grit.
Other than missing two threes, JRob is playing fine. Artis and Young are holding us back today.
Mike Young now looks like he has never played a zone in his life. He seems to have no idea where he is supposed to be.
He actually has played well today apart from the shooting, the pass to Smith on his last three was perfect. He's doing a good job getting the team good shots
Half to stay zone right now because of foul issues.
Hope to ride out the half and finish within 5 or 6. Then you can change up defenses in the second half.
I'm still watching Michael on every possession; he is standing still on offense and out of position on D; he is not a 5 and yet that's where he's playing. I know the other guys have 2+ fouls each, but Young is having a very poor game thru the first 18+ minutes
Disagree. He has missed every shot, missed a foul shot, can't create anything, can't shoot. Not sure what game you are watching.
