I like his demeanor, but his arm strength seemed to be lacking. Still, not his fault we lost. He had us is in a position to win.

What was that one season when we lost Big Ben and Batch and we were down to Dennis Dixon for that Sunday night game? That’s what this season feels like.
So I think going off of that history, and even the 2005 season when Ben, Maddox, and Batch all played, I think they’ll stick with Hodges next weekend. I’d imagine Lynch is there for worst-case scenarios.

Most likely, but I don't think he'd be playing a lot in an ideal scenario. There should never be a ton of tape on him. He probably also requires a bit of a watered down gameplan.
In 25 minutes of game action, Hodges already has had more NFL success than Paxton Lynch.
The season is in the toilet. Might as well let the kid go out there and give it a shot. Playing Paxton Lynch doesn't really do much for you for next year. You have one game and then the bye.
I'm surprised I haven't seen many national tweets or voices calling for Kaepernick, Hodges was great in relief but you can see he doesn't have the arm strength for extended duty in the NFL.
They should just tank for a top 5 pick and get their QB of the future. Oh wait... never mind

I think fans have a tendency to dismiss QBs that don’t project to have huge ceilings like Mahomes or Deshaun Watson. If Rudolph develops into Nick Foles, Case Keenum or someone of that ilk he can have a nice career whether it is with the Steelers or not.
By the way, Hodges was a state duck calling champ. He’s the second coming of Bubby!
Hodges threw for over 15,000 yds in college. Of course it was small school....very small school. But I would play him next week as he earned it. All sports guys say he has been lights out in practice since day one last spring. Play him next week since there is a bye next week and Rudolph will have two weeks to get back at it.
Hope both of these guys play well and Ben is done. Can't stand the guy, he is poison, IMO.

I think Hodges is better but neither qb will get us to the superbowl.

You don't have a clue as to how to judge the talent of a QB. Rudolph was playing very well until the injury. Hodges did well coming off the bench. If Juju doesn't drop that pass the Steelers win this game.
I agree. Rudolph has looked good to me. He’s got a chance to be the long-term answer.
He is poison. Got two OCs fired, whines about draft picks, play calling, who gets cut and who makes the team. Throws 50-55 times per game because of his massive ego.
If Ben is so damn good, the why do they always flame out with an All Pro RB, an Al Pro Receiver, three All Pro olinemen?
People say that Tomlin has no discipline. Well, thats because of Big Ben Crybaby. When the QB is constantly bad mouthing everything the coaches do, and the coaches don't respond, that tells the rest of the team who is in charge. And when the head coach isn't in charge, sh!t happens.
How do you discipline AB for hot doggin in the end zone when the QB does his schtick? Same for Bell, Bryant, and the rest of the clowns on the team.
Ben was good ten years ago. The last five they barely make the playoffs with all that talent.
First off, your whole first paragraph could be describing a number of QBs. Secondly, you clearly have an axe to grind and you using terms like "crybaby big ben" shows that. But I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Arent you the same dude who was crying about a Pitt player celebrating after a big play. I forget what it was exactly, but I remember it being super petty. But I recognize the butthurt in the posts as being eerily familiar.

I thought he was moving well. Got away from the rush and completed passes a few times.
I guess Ben sucks, he only has 2 rings, not 6, so if we could of gotten Brady, 10 years ago, screw Ben! But otherwise, I'd take him over all of the other QBs that sucked the last 10 years, Eli, Rodgers, Rivers, Brees too. Ben sucks, but he beats them all in championships and rings.
