Awfully game played by a team that looked totally unprepared. However, these things sometimes happen and until they happen game after game in the same season it is too easy to view the entire team and season with an overly negative “immediacy bias.”

Personally, I am going to withhold myself from that level of negativity at least until it is deserved by seeing no major improvement over multiple games.

As an aside—Anyone else surprised that Hugley started over Brown in game #1? I thought it would eventually happen but not until later in the season.

This isn’t an anomaly. This is the same thing we’ve watched since Capel’s been here. These things have been and continue to be issues.

1) Where are the offensive sets when it’s clear we need one called?

2) Why do our guys lack basic fundamentals like boxing out on rebounding and good rotations on defense?

3) Why are we flat and lack intensity in so many games?

4) Why do we still lack chemistry and have so many players just playing for themselves?

I’m gonna continue to harp on this but how do you have 4 head coaches on staff and none of the players are getting developed or learning any semblance of a scheme offensively or defensively. If you’re gonna roll the ball out and play why not hire excellent recruiters.

Seriously. If that’s your approach just hire a few HS guys who coach top 20 recruits and hope they bring them along for the ride.

Yeah. There are definitely concerns and things need fixed. But I'm not going to write off the season after one game.

Last year after we beat fsu in game one we were "back". Let the season play out.
