And I say - who cares if our division in our conference is easier than the BIG10 east?
Regardless of conference, we need to go undefeated or have only one early close loss to a top 10 team to EVER make the 4 team NC playoff.
If we do that, our conference is good enough for us to certainly get in if undefeated and 50/50 chance if that one loss.
This is disappointing. I have been to the last two games and it was certainly a good time. I am certain that after this series concludes. We will be playing in the near future. Both fan bases need to put their egos on the shelf. It is a football game. When we play enjoy it. I really have nothing to do with either team winning but in these days and times I appreciate two programs that do it the right way. We Are and You Are.
Once upon a time, these games could be played with no strings attached. Now we have to hear about sanctions, Joe didn’t know and all of the scandal bs. Frankly, PSU scheduled this series because at the the time they thought they needed it. Their behavior continues to be very cultist like and I will be very happy when were no longer playing them.

ne every year...play one ohio mac or cinci every year. Sprinkle in buffalo, wvu, marshall, ysu, Delaware, an occasional michigan mac and we’re good. Dont need any power 5 but a rutgers type. Eff the sec and big 12 not named wvu.
Eff the fat 10 not named rutgers. We need to play teams in our recruiting footprint. The acc is tough enough. Oh, and eff the delusional people on this board who want to play alabama, usc, and aTm every year. Stop scheduling losses, and stop scheduling pedos. Never ever schedule mich state again, either. Dan, OSU, Bama and frankly PSU have earned the right in recent years. Pitt played baby soft schedules for years unless you started watching Pitt football in 2015. Remember YSU beating us, remember when it almost happened again this past year? How about when Akron whooped us in our house?
You can lose to a sucker squad as easily as a good team. Pitt has always played to the competition. We might be a mediocre team for the rest of time but it beats being cowards.
Pitt needs to do better than 2-4 against Syracuse, Virginia, Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech.

The nd series is already scheduled by the ACC, the Irish play 5 ACC teams every year. So obviously they're going to play them when Pitt comes around on their schedule, it's not even possible to schedule an actual 4 game series with them as this current format runs through 2037.
Some dude tried to fight me and my family at the most recent Penn State game because I mentioned the story that came out on that exact same day about paterno. He wanted to fight me over a story in the news that we were discussing amongst ourselves.

I was at both of the Psu/Pitt games and the atmosphere was awesome for both games. I am excited for the next 2 and will be interested to see how they turn out. After that I am fine with a break. It certainly helps with revenue for the Pitt football program to have a sold out game and all the extra season tickets that were sold from simply having PS on the schedule but I don't think it does anything beyond that for the program.
I think the revenue is great, but nationally people enjoyed it as well. Fans are dying for rivalries but unfortunately the Ad's don't care about that element

I don't get excited to play them at all...we beat them 2 out of 3 this century... who cares, i don't.

I enjoy college football including going to an away game or 2 per year. As I currently live in pennsyltucky it actually is closer than the burgh for me. It's one of the reasons I hope we play temple more often as that is an easy ride for me....
You seem pretty intelligent. You might have been one of the few Penn State students that would get accepted into Pitt.
Fans from both sides are saying we don't need each other, but all indications are that it is better playing each other. Both stadiums will sell out, and the hoopla long before the game will bring passion to both the play on the field and the fans around it. The atmosphere at our tailgate, which included PSU fans was friendly and exhilarating, as was the atmosphere at the game. And, of course, to the winner goes bragging rights as one can see on message boards after the game. Don't let anyone convince you that the fans don't care, because they do on both sides. Do you think other OOC games will bring all of the above? No matter how good the team is, it will not bring out the year long interest that the PSU/Pitt game will. Sacrificing the series, no matter the reasons, will not be worth it to the fans and the state of PA. That being said, PSU made their decision and we need to accept it, move on, and look forward to the other opponents. At least the venom on the message boards can subside, and fans can worry about their own team instead of the other.

The playoff committee has shown the past two years win matter more than strength of schedule. They are going to take a one loss team over a two loss team regardless of what kind of schedule they played.
Well ND would rather play Pitt than PSU although the ACC affiliation deceased the number of games they play.
Our schedule allows for better exposure for recruits, so I really dont care about PSU anyway. Whether or not they want to admit it, psu fans dont want to play us because there's always a 50/50 chance they'll lose. It will never be a gimme and that pains them that we can always be a pain the arse. Worse yet when we do win, it's a painful wake up call to reality. They THINK they are on par with OSU/Mich/Mich St but theyre more like Nebraska, wisky or Iowa, still a tier behind and always will be with Urban/Dantonio/UM's alums there.
You are OBSESSED with Penn State. It dominates your every waking moment.
