Jay Glazier said in the Fox pregame that apparently Aiyuk was on his way to the Steelers the morning his extension happened. Lynch and Co. were on the horn hammering it out when Aiyuk and Shanahan had a chat at their complex.

I agree, at least I hope that was their thinking and not that this group would be even be remotely acceptable. We are looking at a solid #1 guy in Pickens, but after that not only don’t they have a #2, but it can be argued they don’t even have a league average #3 on the roster.

I also think they were really counting on Wilson to emerge and his injury in preseason really set his progress back.

He was looking at the center the whole time. He likely timed it right. Heck he looked more onside to me than the cincy player on that 2pt conversion yesterday…and he was onside too.

I will go out on a limb and say the Steelers need at least one more turnover from the defense to win this game, plus at least 2-3 big plays from Fields with this legs.

I expect Cousins will be better in the 2nd half, guy has played very little football since the injury and showed some rust.

NFL refs miss call like anyone else, but I think are much better than college refs. Today tho: weak OPI call on Pickens, miss Harris' helmet being ripped off by the facemask, bad call on Watt strip sack. Three calls/non-calls that are hugely impacting the score.

They knew when they were getting when they hired Arthur Smith, this is who he is. Maybe this type of game plan would work to fit Russell Wilson’s current skill set but it doesn’t work for Justin Fields.

Fields is guy that sometimes struggles to make easy throws in a conventional pro style offense, but can excel when it’s more spread out and throws a decent deep ball.

They should be calling more plays that work to what Fields does best, 2 runs and short pass on 3rd down ain’t it.
