Looks like you guys might be getting Toney

I think Pryts is off to Stanford. Seems like his dad, who played there, is unhappy with how Paterno was treated, and with Shoop leaving, that pretty much cinched it.

Pryts is gone--he'll announce in the morning
I'm glad that I don't bet, or I would've lost my shirt on that one. I can't recall a PSU legacy ever flipping before, and I've followed your recruiting for more years than I like to admit.

Your football alumni must be hemorrhaging over this.

Not really. They're bashing the kid, bashing the father. Blaming the BOT because if they treated Paterno better then Pryts wouldn't be flipping. Stating Nick Scott flipping to safety makes this meaningless. You know...be optimistic while bashing everyone possible

That's interesting that Franklin's not taking any heat. Usually the head coach gets tagged for everything that goes wrong.

I just looked at Toney's offer list. Included offers from UNC, Syracuse, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Temple...and West Virginia.

Which brings up a question. Does WVU offer every high-school senior in the country? I swear that just about every player that I look at has an offer from WVU...

And did anyone notice that WVU does not have as strong of a "star" class this year as they have been getting. Only one 4-star and eight 2-stars out of 25 commits. They are usually pretty good evaluators so it could still be a good class, just a bit surprising.

Go Pitt.

Kid is a stud. Seems like narduzzi is really punching us in the nuts.

Good luck to Toney.
I'd be thrilled to get him. Hope you are right. But the dark side of the force is strong. I still won't be shocked if he sticks at PSU.

Franklin's taking heat for Hudson and, to a lesser degree, Dioubate. Not taking heat for Hill, Matthews or Pryts. Well, not much heat.
I trust that you know more about your situation than I do, but the perception is that Franklin is in over his head.

It could be horrific timing, but the loss of two coordinators, the harsh criticism that he's taken over Hackenberg, and now this...you guys just aren't used to this, after so many controversy-free years under Paterno.

I've often thought that WVU followed certain teams, then offered whomever those teams offered. A cheap, though effective way to build a recruiting data base...;)

Anyone with a tad bit of college football watching experience understands that Franklin is not meant for the head coaching job.

After the Sandusky/parerno/etc era, having a barely over .500 program should be the least of our worries.

Per inside sources, wvu offered over 700 football players this past year.

The last decade Paterno was there was full of controversy and people wanting him out. Even after 2005 & 2008 people wanted him out believing he should go out on a high note. The entre offensive staff (especially Jay) was bashed constantly. As was the fact Penn State only had a handful of coaches that were active recruiters.

Donovan was the scapegoat but most fans love the Moorhead hire (I don't) so he's being praised for that. Most fans also wrongly blamed Hand for the OL issues so him leaving for Auburn wasn't seen as a a negative. Limegrover was a solid pick-up I have to admit. Shoop didn't go over well but Shoop took the heat for that more than Franklin.

The criticism of Franklin involving Hack has been very well-deserved. Most fans go back to Franklin not having "his type of QB" so they're giving him a pass for that and making McSorley out to be the next Johnny Football only with class. The reality is--he had an elite QB and failed to build an offense around him. I'll never understand why Zembiec didn't flip.

The poor close to this class shouldn't be ignored but it will be as people quickly turn their attention to the 2017 class which is loaded in the region.

Personally, I don't think Franklin's in over his head. He was the best possible hire at the time it was made. It may not work out but they hired the right guy. 2015-2016 were always going to be the worst years once the sanctions were reduced. If Penn State goes 6-6 next year I'm content (not happy--content)...then in 2017 we need to start seeing an rise. Even if that's only 8 wins in 2017.

Lion before I got banned I always respected your feedback. You beat me up at times but we're always objective. MikeMaulti trolls around as DionLewis like the geek that he is. I'll always respect you and when you disagree with content on this board I'll always know that you post what you actually believe and not a troll.
Welcome and don't be a stranger. And please do me a favor!!! Tell judge smail he's a pud for me. Massive keyboard geek. Thanks

Makes me think of Givens and Bowers last year. That Sh** was funny last year. What goes around comes around. Take that Jimmy Franks.

There are plenty of us that agree.

The we r better bullshit is just childish. Franklin put a target on his back and he is getting exposed in the home stretch. Still a good class but nothing like it was at it's peak.

I can't imagine your fandom having much patience with him, especially with his having to compete against such big time coaches in the Big Ten right now.

And if he didn't realize it before, he now knows that recruiting against Pat Narduzzi isn't the cake-walk that recruiting against Paul Chryst used to be.

PSU posters, please instruct - "We Are Better" translates to "we are now a better football team because so and so will be part of our team next year" or does it mean "see, we are better than everyone else"?

What do you base this on? I'm reading a lot of chatter here, but exactly what makes anyone think Toney is flipping?

??? This kid sounds nuts.

Im sure he is good but why commit 3 times t the same place?? 2 verbals and a signed. He didn't even go to the basketball gate

You do that if you're not sure. Expect transfers from commits like this, it just happens

Hi Mkman, you can run but you cannot hide

Now don't you feel stupid? And yes, STAY on this board, you're a good fit here.

Why would I feel stupid? We just lost several commitments in the last few weeks and failed to replace with better players. After the Hudson and Hamlin debacle I feel quite justified and saying that Franklin is sinking the ship.

Dude scrap PSU!!! You're perfect for this board!

Don't let the handle "lionrevival" fool you. This guy is a Pitt fan posing as a Penn State fan. He has been exposed on BWI beyond a reasonable doubt. He hates everything about PSU football and everything he posts about PSU is negative.

Congrats to Pitt on a strong closing to your recruiting class. I look forward to our games in the next two years.

Lol, it was a matter of time before these hideous accusations reared their heads again. In the last couple years any sort of dissent or disastisfaction with 7 win seasons is met with ugly rhetoric by the majority of the fan base.

Sorry, seven win seasons don't appease me.
