So, I have a part time job at Field and Stream in Michigan. Yesterday I hear a gentleman talking and he mentions he is from PA. I ask him what part and he says Scranton area. I told him I was from right outside of Pittsburgh (Turtle Creek). He then tells me he went to psu. I told him that I was a huge Pitt fan. He didn't mention the game much but did say we were lucky they had so many injuries. He then went on to say how much the B1G needed psu. How psu was part of the big 4 of the B1G (OSU, UM, MSU and ofcourse psu). At this point i was trying to maintain my professionalism as I was on the clock and representing Field and Stream. I got very quiet and must have had a certain GTFO of here look on my face. He then goes on to tell me how joe was the greatest coach ever, how he was innocent, how he did everything in his power to stop sandusky.
I maintained my professionalism the entire time and did not say a word.
It was so typical joebot.
a coworker overheard the conversation and asked if that dude was for real. I told him unfortunhe is the typical, dillusional psu fan/alum

I wonder what he was shopping for? Certainly not a hook, line, or sinker, since he's already swallowed those - compliments of the Joebots.

Yes. The Big Ten needs its bee-otches and Penn State fills that bill.

We need more of you on this board! By the way, I was on the team that made berkley Fireline while at Dyneema. I dont work in that industry, but the same materials are used in other products that you would be very surprised about... in military applications

1. Next time just ask Didn't PSU put in 116 Reforms to restore Athletic Integrity in 2012 under an NCAA Monitor?

2. Then point out since 2000 Penn State is 7th in Big Ten Winning not 4th, why is that?

3. I agree you Penn State was left with a hell of a publicity problem. Joe was a Great Coach and a nice guy. He just forgot about the rules?

MI, thankfully you saved your job I suppose... I know I could not listen or tolerate.

Turtle Creek ? I spent a ton of time there, my father in law grew up there and played hoops there often.

Many nitters want to be in the ACC, we all know Peddstate is a door mat in that conference.

My first encounter with a crazed nitter was 1976, I was working in and around Altoona PA and had worked an early shift and was with three buddies who were shopping at the Mall before we headed home for Saturday night and Sunday . I was standing in Sears (I think) just trying to watch Pitt on the store's TV's (you know the feeling) who was on vs Notre Dame. All at once a woman who looked to be a little over 50 years old comes up to me and says "They are a bunch of criminals and thugs, most should be in jail!" or something like that. She was extremely angry and I know she was talking about Pitt. I had only been a Pitt fan since 1972 (the year I came North at the encouragement of my uncle ). I told my story to the guys as we rode home and they clued me in as to the insanity of some of the nitters( two of them were Penn State fans and we laughed quite a bit about the incident.) I really didn't say anything that I remember but I will never forget it. It took a few more year but after working in the area I became quite aware of the racism of the so called "educated" nitter nation, which to this day is unfathomable to me.

I've posted this before, but I used to work with a woman who argued with me that the Nits recruited players of better character than Pitt did, which is why "Pitt players got into trouble and (her team's) players never did".

My explanation that "Paterno had such a lock on the Central PA media that they never dared to print the shenanigans of the Nit players" fell on deaf ears. She could never grasp the fact that both teams were recruiting from the same pool of high school players, and that both teams were capable of similar (bad) behavior.

Yep lived in TC from birth till 86 (pre woodland hills) yes we always played a ton of ball.
I believe they would be a mid level team in all power 5 conferences

MI, I'm good friends of the Grubbs family spent a lot of time hooping it up in the creek.

I totally agree with this. Take Lavon Chisley. He was trying to help this poor student out while he was cutting up vegtables for a good wholesome meal and the stupid kid slipped and fell on Chisley's knife. He did it 93 times! The dumb bastard slipped 93 times on that knife and they wrongly accused Chisley of murder. Everyone is jealous of Penn State and the Grand Experiment.

Well, they are far better Fans today, lost the Swagger, dislike the Big Ten, and now happy to play Pitt again! I met many and admire more than ever dealing with the CD's! The University is actually better than ever now back in compliance, they are working out other details now.

When I had to go to a seminar to learn about the New Reforms and Policies they told what they quietly say about the Fans living in yesterday. Called them CD's for short and Old Main does it too!

It is still work in progress but the Best & Brightest will make it work just like the vast majority that loved the Pitt-Penn State Game a few weeks ago.

Quite frankly, may schools are adopting the same policies and Baylor is going a step further and will get more credit, still too much resistance to move on from JVP, Briles is Bought Out and forgotten!

The Old Days when they had No Code of Conduct for Players or Coaches, Lack Institutional Control, and had no Athletic Integrity Agreement, Policies, and treated Athletes above the Students!

Are you serious? Don is my best friend. I see him about once a month. he is one of a kind. I played alot of ball with him growing up so perhaps I even played against or with you.

Not sure how anyone can support either. I would guess there's frequently an element of "lesser of 2 evils" but I don't know how anyone can stand either of these 2. I'm not highly political but this cycle is sickening.
King....I couldn't agree more. I won't vote for either, simply can't do it. Maybe I'll write in Donovan Jeter??

He has retired and been doing lots of volunteer work around Turtle Creek/ East Pittsburgh. His son played at Pitt Johnstown and is an assistant coach there now. He is one of a kind and I can only hope to be half the man he is
