Man, his stock just continues to rise.
Yeah, but it would be a lot better if he could do something like that against the San Jose Earthquakes.
Pefok plays on turf. Maybe we could have used him in Hamilton.
Right now he’s in form, Brooks is in form, Pulisic looks like he’s rounding into form, and McKennie is better than in form. Reyna will hopefully be back but he missed another match today to illness. Bottom line is Berhalter better not screw this up next month. He also plays in Switzerland, and it gets pretty cold in Switzerland. I mean maybe not Minnesota cold, but he'd have actually been someone used to playing in weather like that.
oh don’t you worry FK. Zardes will be there and start 1 gameRight now he’s in form, Brooks is in form, Pulisic looks like he’s rounding into form, and McKennie is better than in form. I really haven’t followed the USMNT like others through the years so admittedly I don’t know about Zardes intimately. So I figured he played in Toronto or was used to playing in the cold elements. And I’ve never followed the MLS although would love a reason to. So I looked him up and see he’s a Southern California kid who grew up in the Galaxy’s academy. Lol.oh don’t you worry FK. To be fair though, even the worst MLS team would be no worse than 4th if they were a CONCACAF nation.
the chunks of stupidity produced never stopWait, are you trying to tell us that you think that if FC Cincinnati was a CONCACAF country they would be no worse than 4th in the World Cup qualifying table?
Good lord, you can't really think that, can you?
Lol. Why does every 8/10 SMF posts get shot down?the chunks of stupidity produced never stop
I do have to wonder though about some clubs vs international teams. There is something to be said for training and playing together year round.
100%. Most of the Panamanian players could not make an MLS team. Lets review where the Panama field players play:Wait, are you trying to tell us that you think that if FC Cincinnati was a CONCACAF country they would be no worse than 4th in the World Cup qualifying table?

100%. Most of the Panamanian players could not make an MLS team. Lets review where the Panama field players play:
Spanish 2nd Division: 4
MLS: 2
Panama: 5
Belgium: 1
Slovakia: 2
Iraq: 1
Austria: 1 (currently on loan to a bad Bundesliga team)
Venezuela: 1
Ecuador: 2
Peru: 3
Costa Rica: 1
Bolivia: 1
That team would finish last in a full season of MLS. Many of those players would not make an MLS team and the ones that could would be marginal players. But, but its a national team so they must be better than FC Cincinnati because it sounds like they are. Nope. They are not.
He will not be in Salzburg for much longer. Jason Davies was reporting in the last few weeks EPL clubs are monitoring him. This kid just never stops. He seems very durable with an extremely non stop motor. This one is a real shame. RB Salzburg lead throughout, and Munich scored in the 90th minute to tie. That’s too bad. They had a chance to go up 2-0 but a Munich defender got a foot out to stop a shot going into an open net. Anyway Aaronson is really impressing.
The USMNT would be just above the relegation zone in the EPL. Panama would be a 3rd division team. MLS teams are lower English 2nd division in my opinion. Lower EPL teams can lose to 3rd division teams away from home, especially when playing the reserves like Berhalter did. That's why the US team made up of all players playing at the MLS level or higher, in some cases much higher, beat Panama 12-0 the last time they played, and the Mexico team that is made up of all players playing at the MLS level or higher beat them 16-1.
Does FC Cincinnati have even one player good enough to play for their national team? Certainly none of their American players are anywhere close to playing for the US.

That’s too bad. I watched pieces of that match yesterday and they had a chance to go up 2-0. Aaronson had a great shot and almost score earlier in the game too. I was impressed with their organization in the back. Munich kept coming and coming, and RS never panicked and made defending look simple. But they did give up the goal late, and it’s a tough task now to go back to Munich and get a win.Leeds made several offers for him in January, I think the last was the equivalent of around $28 million, but Salzburg wouldn't take any of them because they think they have a real chance to beat Bayern and they didn't want to break up their team.

Leeds would be a decent fit for Aaronson. Bielsma is high tempo all 90 minutes, however Leeds very well could get relegated. I also think he could thrive at City with Pep. Pep likes the high press and Aaronson with that motor could be very effective.Leeds made several offers for him in January, I think the last was the equivalent of around $28 million, but Salzburg wouldn't take any of them because they think they have a real chance to beat Bayern and they didn't want to break up their team.
Yeah but I don’t want him at City rotting on the bench. I’ll tell you where I’d like to see him and that’s Everton. Lampard loves him a 4-3-3 and we know Berhalter is married to that formation. And if Tuchel doesn’t give Pulisic a run of games before the years out, I’d love to see Pulisic reunited with my man Frank.Leeds would be a decent fit for Aaronson. Wait it was on cbs sports?Looks like CBS is putting some knockout round games on their over-the-air station. PSG/RM was on KDKA. Unbelievable 93rd minute game winner by Mbappe.
Wait it was on cbs sports?
No, it was actually on CBS. Channel 2, for us Pittsburghers. They showed a game on both Tuesday and Wednesday, PSG - Real on Tuesday, Inter - Liverpool on Wednesday. I watched the second halfs of both when I got home from work.
Next week they are showing Chelsea - Lille on Tuesday and Atletico - Man U on Wednesday.
That would have to be the first time that club football was shown on a weekday on an over-the-air station in the US. Kinda cool but CBS's coverage of Champions League is all over the place. Some games are stream only, some on CBSSN, and now on old-school CBS.
I think the original plan was that only the final was going to be over the air, there were going to be a few games on CBSSN, and most of the games were going to be streaming only. I wonder what happened to change their minds?
I really think Norwich was a poor destination for Josh. They were always going to struggle to score and they have. Add to that, Josh needing a boost in confidence and that's a poor combo. Not saying all relegation teams would be a bad fit, Newcastle or Watford woulda been a little better. They can actually score a bit.HUGE Josh Sargent assist vs Liverpool today. Incredible talent exhibited here. .

CBS sees audience gain for Champs League match
CBS averaged 769,000 viewers for the first leg of the Real Madrid-Paris Saint-Germain UEFA Champions League matchup on Tuesday afternoon, marking only the second time that a UCL Round of 16 game has topped 700,000 viewers on English-language TV in the U.S.www.sportsbusinessjournal.com
2nd largest Round of 16 in American TV (English-speaking) history. I know they are trying to sell Paramount+ subscriptions and I think that's a good plan for the early round which are more niche/diehard-ish. But for the knockout stages, those appeal to the masses, but not folks who are going to go through the trouble of signing up for Paramount+, downloading the app, etc but will watch in droves if you put it on CBS.
Two things. First of all, they didn't know that that would happen before they put the game on over the air. Secondly, if the goal is selling Paramount+ subscriptions (and I agree, that is what the goal is) then ending up moving the best programming from Paramount+ to over the air after you've told everyone that they are going to need Paramount+ to watch the games is a really good way to piss off the people who are paying you the money. And pissing off the people who are paying you money is generally not a good idea.
Did they ever say EVERY match will be on Paramount+ though?
I mean there's 8 Round of 16 matchups. 2 of the "mainstream" matchups being on your grand dad's CBS and 6 being on Paramount+ seems like really good business without pissing off that many people. Then they can do 2 Quarterfinals on CBS and 2 on Paramount+. Semis and Finals can be just Paramount+. So diehard soccer fans will know they need Paramount+ from the playoff rounds to group stage all the way through the quarterfinals. Someone like me, who is more of a mainstream soccer fan will never buy a Paramount+ subscription for early rounds but will watch later CBS coverage. Best of both worlds for them
