That was a waste of time. I doubt I will waste time next weekend watching them lose yet another playoff game:
- The WIlson experiment should be over. Kenny ran a better two minute offense and I suspect Fields would have. I would not sign Wilson in the offseason nor would I want to pay anything more than $5 mil for Fields. Tomlin will demand a veteran qb so I am wagering if not Fields than Rogers or Cousins will be wearing Black & Yellow next year.
- Pickens has #1 talent but he is too inconsistent beyond his attitude challenges to give another contract to. Honestly, I would trade him. He may prove to be a great WR but he won't under Tomlin.
- Can we end Dan Moore at LT?
- It's sad that Muth was our best weapon last night. He is the poster child in showing how this org over pays it's players.
- In most organizations, Tomlin would be history. If Kraft can push out the GOAT, then I don't see why Art Jr cannot push out Tomlin. Kraft can be ruthless and objective. Art is none of those.

Pickens is a 2nd rounder, but he only has one more year of control (before options). I'm saying if you get someone like Higgins then that's your replacement for him... and you add a draft pick on top of that, thus improving the receiving room as a whole.
Why wouldn’t they? He’s a problem most weeks. Was a problem headed into this week and will be a problem headed into next week. If your best receiver is causing problems every week, take what you can get for him while you can. Because it would be foolish to give him a new big money contract in a year. he’s a problem now, wait til he gets paid.

Kinda like how we improved our qb room , by losing another year of rookie contact control - not resigning Rudolph , and having a veteran qb and a backup who’s a running back who can’t throw ?
People say Pickens has taken. And yes he’s incredible at catching contested sideline balls. But he’s far far from being a complete talented receiver
Hit him in the soft spot of the zone into his bread basket. Pros catch that 100 of 100 times. It’s what they are paid to do.

We did improve it. I'd take Wilson and Fields over Pickett and Rudolph. Doesn't mean either tandem is good enough.
You're telling me Higgins and a 2nd round receiver isn't better than Pickens? Mr. Grab Bag himself. You never know what you'll get from week to week. Could make a few world-class catches. Could have three drops. Could not feel like running his routes that day, freeing up safeties to sit on other guys and make picks in the end zone.
I remember what it was like to have a QB who won games at the end instead of lose them.
But then Cam, Minkah and TJ ran him out of Pittsburgh because they thought Russ could do better. Turns out he hasn’t done any better.
This is what you get when you’re Tomlin and you let your inmates run the asylum.

It's only a recent thing with Wilson. He's been much better than Pickett was for most of the season, in my opinion. But the hits seem to have taken a toll. He's just a little too old/slow to be playing behind this line.

Film has been out on he and Arthur Smith offenses for years. Obviously the increase in competition didn't help.
But this receiving corps, which was without Pickens for two games and might as well have been without him tonight, is somehow even worse than last season. It's amazing.
They went to the coach and GM and actively recruited him. You didn’t know? I know you have a good job and all M-F, but sometimes I think you don’t read one article or listen to any reports about this team throughout the week and then just watch the games on Sundays. You’re a busy guy.

We don't have a qb signed beyond next week. Assume we don't sign either Fields or Wilson, Tomlin will still demand a veteran qb. The likely outcome is we end up paying more in 2025 without an upgrade in performance.
Smart teams put money into their franchise qb and draft WRs to replace those leaving. Higgins will command money the Steelers need to put in other areas.

Dionte was an elite route runner , got overpaid with his contact as a result- and had some notable drop issues- he has to go so bad we ate his contract and paid him to play elsewhere .

As far as Pickens goes if they don’t extend him going into next year he’ll hold out and be more of a cancer than he has been. The Steelers are in a rough spot with this clown. Better to cut bait now than hand on to him.

What part of he’s going to hold out and be more disruptive next year than this if they don’t extend him before the season didn’t you understand. You think he sucked today. You’ve seen nothing yet if he’s not extended. Saying he has a ten cent head is giving him too much credit
