Notre Dame Game & Other Dribbles ...

You are right. WE were horrendous.

Maybe our floor leader by not fouling out with a quarter of the game remaining and having a better line than he did, could have made the team around him better.
I don’t disagree but the game was long since over when he fouled out.

I really got nothing to say. I checked out of the game when AKC attempted that 3 point attempt, after everyone else decided all they wanted to do is chuck up quick 3's.
It's funny, but I watched part of ND/VT, where ND shot 3 of 18 from 3land (16.7%) and shot 35% overall and thought to myself that they will come lights out against Pitt. And they did.

Sure defense sucked, but how about that 36 footer their guard nailed in the 1st half??

I don't know what is going wrong next. Kids nowadays aren't that tough and I am worried there will be more than a few exits from the program just because things aren't going their way.

The Pitt basketball program in not trending in a positive way. The reason they beat Miami was that half of their team were out plus some were starters. This team is playing street ball. The way to win at Pitt is with good sound offensive and defensive systems. Pitt does not get the big time recruits. They win with hard nosed players that develop maybe turn into red-shirt seniors that know the system.

I wanted to throw up watching this game. I don't get it how a team looks like it did against syracuse and duke, then has a game like this. It is incomprehensible. so sad. so now, a bunch of kids are unhappy too ? WTF. Capel has some work to do, if he wants to continue to be a major college head coach.

I am old enough to remember Villanova coming into the Fitz and having a performance like we did last night and Pitt blew them out, Rollie benched his starting 5. A month later they were cutting down the nets in one of college basketball's biggest upsets over Georgetown. I am not saying this to suggest Pitt could do the same, I am saying that even really good teams have dogs once in awhile.
