Now we can put that insufferable stiff Stallings behind us...

An NCAA tourney appearance isn’t much different than a bowl appearance when you go 9-9 in conference and have no chance of stringing 2 wins together, let alone 6. But yet you’re ready to move on from Narduzzi.

Weird that you took issue with my use of the word funk. I didn’t think that was debatable. But you’ll debate anything.
You’re wrong
Need proof see the history of Pitt hoops
The end there is no debate

Are you saying that because it’s the same argument people make against your position on Mike tomlin?

Jamie knew the program was in a funk...but soufs the one who’s always right. Got it.

No we wouldn’t...he was a bum!!!!!!!

Remember when Dixon started at TCU and you said he'd be out of coaching in 5 years?

I'd ask if you'll admit you're wrong, but your irrational hatred of Dixon and general petulance suggests you won't be able to do that.

Dixon is a great coach. He needed his batteries recharged. Most of us do. Let's be honest. But let's also not portray Jamie's last five years here like the success he had in his first 8. Again, it is like people justifying Mike Tomlin's overall success but ignoring the last few years they have performed "below the line".

He’s a bum... 3 more years and tcu will be fed up with him now that the AD there isn’t his buddy. His teams still lose to all the teams on his schedule with a pulse. Saw him lose to Kansas the other night after beating the cupcakes on his schedule.? And you still know nothing about BB, JiGer.

Did I. mention Dixon is a bum?

Same old bum.... can’t beat a team with a Pulse in a meaningful game.

Like I said. You lack the character to admit you're wrong.

Yeah. If you ignore all the meaningful games he's won in his career.
Dixon never saw a number one seed that he didn’t proceed to blow! Check out those Wisconsin tapes... nice offense ..,43 points? Terrific offense!

Huh. It's almost like... one would have to win meaningful games to get a one seed...

Man, Pitt fans are certainly entertaining, even though they lack facts and make piss poor arguments. Get over it, for cryin' out loud. Dixon is not our coach now. It's time to move on. And if you can't appreciate what he contributed to this program over the years and just want to slam him, maybe you should look to be a fan of another program. You won't be missed.

I believe Pitt now has a coach that can recruit the kind of players that can make Pitt competitive in the ACC , the previous two coaches simply didn’t have those skills . Saying that I seriously doubt JC will be able to replicate JD’s glory yrs in the BE . That doesn’t mean JC won’t be a great coach for Pitt , it just says how great the Dixon BE yrs were . Pitt never had that great future NBA player under JD to carry the load. .

If losing to Kansas makes you a bum then there’s a lot of bums out there .

Who cares about the seed other than it suggests how a team should perform in the tournament relative to their peers... all that counts is how a team actually performs given their seed... and we know Dixon was a choker knocked out of the tournament regularly by lower seeded teams.....the Butler game was one of the worst coached games ever played by a number 1 seed in the tournament. His tournament failures coupled with the deplorable condition he left the program in when he left has earned him this title...BUM!!! Get to a game, JIGer and sideline agitator.

Moving the goalpoasts, I see.

You are a petulant child. I'll check back in a few years from now. Maybe you'll have grown up enough to admit you were wrong.

Jesus...

Jamie Dixon is the best coach pitt has ever had. If capel even matches the last 5 years of dixon’s Tenure here, we will all be very happy.

Otherwise, give it a rest.

If a CFO 'quits' the month before a company declares bankruptcy, is he still not responsible for the bankruptcy?

Not many Pitt fans will be happy with matching JD's last 5 years because he's largely responsible for the past two seasons and they should be included. Whether we won 4 total conference games with KS or would have won 12 total with JD, it doesn't matter. We'd still stink then and we'd still be average at best now based on his recruiting trending.

I don't think many of us hate JD. We just hate the board nuts like you with zero objectivity towards the situation that have a disturbing adoration for a guy that quit on our university and left the program barren of talent.

Ok! Like I said, why can’t we just shit up about Dixon and enjoy what capel is building? I don’t get why people constantly have to drag Dixon through the mud.

Spot on... JIGers won’t accept the truth.

Lol. You guys have fun. The fanbase largely celebrated when Dixon left, and honestly got what it deserved in stallings.

I would have thought people would have learned their lesson, but I guess not.

I can't believe this thread is still alive after such a great win. My final thought:

Dixon was great, best coach probably the program has had. But the last 5 year dixon wasn't the same as the first 8 year dixon. He lost his mojo, with the move to the ACC and losing both Rowan & Herron. Similar to Walt losing his mojo with the collapse of the Big East and losing Morelli & Johnson. It was time for both sides to try something else. The problem is we were sold a false bill of goods in Barnes supposedly being a basketball expert and bascially committed a crime during his tenure here.

They'll never learn because they are incapable of learning. They have a total lack of acceptance of facts and insist on misinformation to support their frail arguments. Like this BS about the last 5 years and Dixon quitting. The fact is that it wasn't the last 5 years and was less than that. Even in his worst year, he was still well above the standard we are trying to achieve even now. And Dixon DID NOT QUIT! Jeez, how many times does that have to be pounded into their thick skulls????? This is based on facts, not some message board speculation.

Don't go there. Just walk away. If you don't want Del and others, and me to jump in.....just end it. Walk away. Sometimes it is just the prudent thing to do.

This thread got he exact response the OP intended, if we're being honest. Baiting 101.

And I took the bait because sometimes I simply cannot control myself responding to certain people within the group I have on ignore. My will-power is only so strong. They are simply not Pitt fans. They are JD fans and should be on the TCU board.

For me .....

- Jamie Dixon era at Pitt is over ...... many good memories.

- The Kevin Stallings era at Pitt is over ...... many bad memories.

- The Jeff Capel era at Pitt has just started ...... hopefully will produce my best memories.
Perfect!

The original post had nothing to do Dixon so I don’t understand the JD fan comment.

Was this thread necessary? Or is non stop Stallings bashing still in bounds?

For those who wish to move on, I suggest they COMPLETELY move on.

At this point I would probably agree. But most of the thread turned into Dixon thread anyway.

You may have but unfortunately others haven't. Brokenrecord1985 and IloveDixon2003 are poster boy examples of "moving on" when it suits them.

But the Dixon haters first turned the thread in that direction...

Exactly. The stallings comments were expected as over the last couple weeks there has been some pretty heavy stalling defending from a couple poster (whether consciously or subconsciously).

The Dixon stuff is exclusively brought up by people who are anti Dixon at this point.

I understand the stallings comparisons...he was just here. I don’t get bring up Dixon at every turn.

Really ALMOST everyone has moved on.

You have a disconnect from reality. I guarantee you, that if you look up Dixon and threads about him since stallings was fired, 90% of the time it was intimidated by the anti-Dixon crowd.

And btw, you’re the reason for a thread like this one.

Nonsense... I replied to a JIGer who brought him up and called me out specifically with his JIGer comment
