On Jeff Capel…

He certainly wasn't an NBA player when he left here but he was good enough to be coveted by a blue blood program.

yeah that's how the game works. Marginal to good transfers will be coveted a lot more than true freshman.

Yeah, Cam shot 42% from three that season, and was pretty close to the top player in the portal...which resulted in the scholarship at UNC. He was really good - borderline elite offensively, and awful defensively, but that's not a huge surprise because I don't think Stallings coached a single player that wasn't awful defensively in his two years here.

the two kids that just left were arguably the top two players in the portal this year too.

I understand saying stuff to support your narrative but try and be a little based in fact

Here is just one article showing X as the 18th best transfer and Toney as the 36th best.

They looked better cause they were able to be so ball dominant.

cbssports ranking X as the 18th best transfer means nothing to me.. I think it's pretty obvious he was a top transfer candidate last year. A multi media mogul producing this list, when I'd bet they maybe watched a youtube clip or two of X along with box scores, means nothing to me. He led the ACC in assists while at Pitt and was the only reason we won any games.

I like X a lot, but this is a scorcher.

Again I see you want to just see the world through your lens and that is fine.

X and Toney were decent players and would still start here.

He was also the reason we lost a lot of games. He never led the ACC in assists again try to be fact based - he was second last year so you were close... but he was 11th in Assist to TO. He may have led the ACC had he not quit on his team. Great guy we should want back here.

I said during his time at Pitt. Not last year. try reading.

So when do you become an ESPN star. You must be making millions being so knowledgable.

What does that even mean led the ACC in Assists in his time at Pitt over that 3 year period? Who cares how many other guys even played PG for 3 years at that time. Did he ever lead the ACC in assists in one year?

He made an all-freshman team that was his one big ACC accomplishment.

He was me first Turnover machine that if he could ever play within a team concept would have been a damn good player.

I bet you're a big Femi fan? those 8 TO's last game were solid.

lets see how the year plays out before you take victory laps.
X #26 here -- can't find anyone making an argument they are top 2 transfers.

week 2 I was saying Kenny should be a top 3 round guy. my buddies pulled up articles from similar spots, saying he wasn't even top 20 Qbs in the county. Again, lets wait to see how this year unfolds.

I like Femi yes, I liked X too-- would like him better if he was backing up a mature Senior X while he works on his handle and grasp of our offense.

X is a good 4 year college player -- problem is he thought he was a one and done. I wish our lineup this year was X/Trey/Toney/Champ/Hugley -- I think if the first three could have gotten along Champ would have come back to make a run and we have an NCAAT team this year.

maybe you need to do some research. we don't have an offense last time I checked.

Forget about the record thus far…and think of the qualities he brings to the table.

He‘s honest individual, who cares about his team and the players on it. Yes, there may have been some toxicity among players, but he stood by Hugley (when most posters felt Hugley was done at Pitt) and there may be others he’s helped we don’t know about.

Yes, he’s judged by Ws and Ls, but this year he had 40% of his projected starting lineup out two weeks before the season began, through no fault of his. It’s a prime reason our backcourt has had problems.

Listen to his media interviews, he’s open and candid about things. He doesn’t sugarcoat things, but speaks from the heart.

Though the Ws haven’t come as we’ve hoped thus far, I view him as the type of person I want representing our University.

Just some thoughts from the West Coast.

Hail to PITT!

Oh bullshit. Most grandamas are nice too. That doesn't make them good head coaches. Although, many of them probably could create a better team culture than Capel.

Nope....I'm enjoying you make a fool of yourself.
Pitt hasn’t had a player under JC that could compete with either Young or Artis . They’re not the most popular ex Panthers , but both were very good college bb players .

Champagnie and Toney would have been if they stayed 4 years.

Champ was better than either while here. We'll see if he gets a nice run in the NFL.

Disagree on Toney.....solid, but not as good as the other 2.
I think Toney will have a great year with Arkansas. He is the kind of guy who will be better with better guys around him.

He is less of a player than Champ for sure but I think he is really good.

Toney will more than likely flourish under a good head coach.

He certainly wasn't an NBA player when he left here but he was good enough to be coveted by a blue blood program.

Cam was trending toward NBA from early on. I remember Jamie doing an interview with Pomp after he left for TCU and Jamie was talking up the team Pitt had coming back, said its an NCAAT team and was raving about Cam. Said he told him he better see him in the NBA

Very talented but not very good at basketball

I loved both and thought both were very talented but they aren't better than #11 last year.
