A decent playoff run doesn't make a career. This Murray excitement was overblown, decent play that looked better due to a great offense. Pens know this, that's why flower is still on the team.

Our playoff failures were much more due to inept scoring. I'll bet you were saying the same thing with hedberg and lalime.

Not every year he didn't. 2 years ago they lasted 1 round and lost in 5 games. He had a .927 save % and a 2.12 GA. They lost because they couldn't get the puck in the net. You can't make stuff up to support your false narrative.
-Fleury was under 90% in 5 of the last 7 years. He had an 83% save percentage in 2012, one of the worst in the last 50 years. This is a player that folds like a cheap tent in the playoffs. We wouldnt of had a snowballs chance in hell to win the Cup last year without Murray.
I never claimed he was good every year. I've just pointed out to you that he's had a few good post seasons. You've acted as if he was a bum every year. And you're wrong.
As for last year, we'll never know. History favors you but he'd be capable of getting hot.
-He hasnt had a good post season since 2009. If you made $6 Million per year and were one of the highest paid players for your your team and one of the highest paid players in the entire NHL, the expectations are a little higher. Unlike Pitt football, I expect the Penguins to win with Elite Talent.
Again you're wrong. Even though it was very short (through no fault of his own) his post season 2 years ago was good. He was WAY good enough for them to advance but they couldn't score.
On a side note - and I promise you I'm not trying to be a jerk, may I ask your age? Doesn't have to be exact (even a small range?). And feel free to tell me to go eff myself but I'm just curious.
It's clear you have a great passion for your sports teams but I think it clouds your judgement sometimes. But I guess we've all been there as that's what being a fan can be.
-I also expect Pittsburgh to repeat as Champion, as hard as that is. This team has everything needed to dominate. Only 2 teams have repeated. The redwings and the Lemieux Penguins.
And yea - one of the reasons I was happy to see them win is because if they didn't it would have been pissing away having the best talent of their generation. We haven't even talked about LeTang who is another absolute stud if he can remain healthy.
They have the talent but I wouldn't expect anything. One thing I agree with you in is it's the hardest championship to win.
Ok. I'm mid to late 40s. I'm still a fan and I used to live and die with a lot of teams but that's no longer the case. I get into it but it's all just entertainment for me anymore. Even as much of a gut punch as that game was yesterday my life moved along just fine.
-They won the Cup and returned 98% of the entire roster. There is no reason not to expect to repeat at this point, especially because we dominated every team we played last year statistically. We had twice the shots against every team. The stats could have been skewed even further had Kunitz not decided to have a bond with post. He had to hit the post a record amount last season in the playoffs.
Injuries, for one my man. Again - do they have the talent? For sure. And sometimes you run into a hot goalie that can just stone you. Will they be a favorite? I'm sure they are. But winning those 16 games is grueling.
-They are without question the favorite from Vegas to anyone. You can play the injury game with any team. Right now, Im not playing that game. Champion until defeated.
Who cares? MAF is a great regular season goalie! All they have to do is be 8th place or better at the end of March. What are you worried about. the 1st 3 months of the season are like exhibition games, lol.
