Thinking about the OPI that was called on Calvin Austin yesterday. Was that truly OPI, or just a (rare) great scheme to get Pickens open across the middle. Pickens and Austin nearly rubbed shoulders and the defender was trying to gain inside position on Pickens and collided with Austin. I always thought that was perfectly legal, no? I can understand if Austin went out of his way to jump in front of the defender. I can understand if Austin did something other than be in that exact spot to disrupt the coverage. But as designed, it seemed like a great route to me. Can someone explain how/why I'm wrong here because I truly don't understand.
