OT Steelers Game thread

The fake punt had nothing to do with the final score
There were pros and cons to that decision but you have blinders on to say it had no impact. When NO needed a TD and not just a FG to win, and NO not really moving the ball with ease, big difference between having them only have to go 50 yds instead of 80-90 yards.

We just lost to the Super Bowl Champs at their place. Losing to teams like Oakland are the far worse crime.

Not having Conner hurt. He picks up those blitzes, and gets the tough yards you need.

Good luck Baltimore. Don't embarrass yourselves like Pittsburgh definitely would have done.

Not really. It would have just required a little more time. NO scores with seven seconds left instead of 1:25

No numbers out yet, I expect the Ravens to be in the -6 range. Browns have won 5 out of 6 and definitely have a chance. Their defense is decent and the Ravens are underwhelming offensively.

Or maybe they don’t, you can’t ever assume a TD. We all thought the Patriots would score late last week as well.

Agree to an extent but this game was a microcosm of the season

Hideous turnovers. A d that can’t make the big play. Bad play calling and coaching Team effort

They are wasting Bens last few good years

The Steelers don’t have any leaders player wise, no Joe Greene, no Rod Woodson, no Jerome Bettis, no Hines Ward. That a back up WR is the one on the sidelines putting his arm around JuJu is telling.

Also the Steelers won 6 Super Bowls with a DT who drew double teams which opened things up for the ends and linebackers, they never really sniffed a Super Bowl after Joe Greene retired and same goes since Casey Hampton retired.

But see, they did score. Having to go thirty more yards to do probably doesn’t change that outcome

Great Tomlin comes back, all you Tomlin fans win, we have another winning season, we miss the playoffs again ( we wont be inthe playoff this year), and things are great!
Next season we have a winning record, Wow, no playoffs but for Tomlin it's worth being a loser franchise!
Why not fire Tomlin, hire someone who isn't and doesn't look totally confused and see how we do??????

Nah, but if this year and next are non playoff seasons there will be some pressure on him heading into 2020.

Yeah the talk of tomlin getting fired is silly.

However if he keeps Butler and the horrible defensive staff his Fate will be sealed in two years.

I’m not impressed with Fichtner but he’s not the big problem. You can’t waste the last years of Bens prime

Real easy to say that for you. Not so easy for me considering that, even with the short field, they still needed a real close PI call on 4th down to keep that drive alive to get the TD. Plus 1 or 2 holding penalties that also set them back. More opportunities for FUps on their part with the long field.

Agreed - need to make changes on the defensive side of the ball.

And that changes on a longer field how? The best chance to win was keeping possession of the ball. The fake punt attempt just came up a little short

Add in the defense on the 3rd and 20 as well.

This was the turning point. Two opportunities to stop them from gaining 20 yards and you give up 25. You lose every single time after that.
