Relatively new poster here. But, for my anniversary, my wife and I flew out to Chicago yesterday morning and are now taking an Uber to South Bend. I decided to open up the wallet and booked us a room at the Ritz-Carlton for last night and tonight. I’ve never lived downtown before, but it seemed like there was a fire truck, ambulance or police car racing down the streets every 5 minutes. It was the worst night of sleep I’ve had in a long long time. Is that normal in a giant city like Chicago? Anyway, it will be well worth it to walk out tonight with a W! 21-20...book it! H2P

You must be opening up the wallet for that uber too, especially if you’re trying to get one back to Chicago after the game. I had to take one from Baltimore to DC once and that ran me damn near $100.

All that is normal, but the better hotels typically have thicker glass to limit such noise?

I would have thought. But, it was awful.

Yea....the trip was $190. But, we expected to pay out of the nose for it.

Trattoria on Dearborn Street. It was absolutely phenomenal. We both had ravioli.

Congrats on your anniversary. I love staying in Chicago and going to games at ND. Try the W Lakeshore next time. Not that expensive, great views and you don't hear anything in the room.

or simply travel with earplugs. That works too.
