Always making statements about THE ACTUAL WINNERS, like "at least we don't cheat like them", while we're watching on TV as they accept the trophy, laugh all the way to the bank and never get punished... and even if they are punished, 2-3 years later, they are back at the podium, laughing at Pitt, while Pitt acts like they have a "higher calling", but sadly NOBODY CARES.
Good point and post, but some significant developments have happen to Penn State Football & Pitt since the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and Today:
1. The Big Ten has reduced Penn State to mostly 2nd & 3rd Tier Team behind 4 to 5 Programs even before the 2011 Scandal. They caused Paterno to avoid obeying the Clery Act so he could play Players he needed to win and that led and exposed the Clery Act $2.4 Fine Scandal that can't be erased by any Lawsuits, nor refuted by any well educated Poster.
2. Penn State still has to deal with Big Ten Michigan and Ohio State that out Recruits (Even Right Now in 2017) them and have beaten them more then they can beat them. This is not going to change. Even Wisconsin, Nebraska and Iowa have made it tougher on Penn State to win and they are winning at around 5th and 6th since 2000. Ohio State & Michigan are still the Big Two of the Big Ten always will be favor them. One year won't bring back Penn State to win again on Big Ten levels they can't overcome in the long run.

No matter what some think The Penn State Football Scandal truly removed the arrogant swagger followed by many Alumni that now accept it happen and deal with it without the arrogance they once had unlike the few remaining Cultist's. Many Great PSU Alumni admit to me that they can't stop the less Smart PSU Fans that never went to Penn State but believed everything Paterno once said but is now discredited on the facts. They are ashamed of what they call the Cult's Dolts behind their backs at games. They truly like that Penn State clean up and out those that helped create and cause the Worst Scandal in CFB that exposed the Football Program as Fraudulent Criminal Wall Around It costing billions. This is the legacy created by previous coaches and administrators no longer there and exposed by the Investigations. The Violations have been erased by the 2012 Reforms but that legacy will never go away and will always be a stain on Penn State Shamed Name. No one season can erase it in Smarter Minds.
4. Pitt Football has moved upward and onward and just been in the ACC going on just its 5th year with ACC Power Conference Money now. This is a big game change for Pitt and anyone thinking otherwise is living in the past and that includes most PSU Fans. One could see the change in Pitt Player's attitude in year one under Coach Pat & Staff. Wisky is starting to see some flaws in that "Oh Shucks Pitt Does Not Need A Stinkin Special Teams Coach" as Barry grows older and soon will retire? Pitt produced a Consensus All American from a 3 Star Recruit in just Coach Pat & Staff second year? Smart Posters see the difference as PSU & WVU are still looking for one?
6. Moreover, Pitt got a New Chancellor and hired a Head Coach that wants to be and stay at Pitt and its shows up in the Player's Attitudes. They love playing for Pitt's Coach Pat & Staff because they can see they he care about them. It has only been 2 Years and funny how some Posters can wait on Penn State Head Coach with 6 Years Experience but not on Coach Pat Staff at Pitt in just 2 years? Same for any comparisons coaching at WVU too that did not beat 1 Ranked Team in a lame conference in 2016 as well?
7. A New OC & AD is forthcoming too and both Chancellor Gallagher and Dr. Juhl want to find one that will stay at Pitt too, and so does Coach Pat on the New OC. Pitt in the ACC Coastal is in far better shape to compete again, than it has ever been on 50 years with Power Conference ACC Money with or without Attendnace.

If some Posters here cannot see the improvements, attitude sea changes, and practices with film study far better now under Coach Pat & Staff without Off the Gridiron problems that is truly on those Posters not Pitt. If some want to think they can wait and see a Penn State with less caliber Signature Wins even in 2016, but not have such patience or wait to have the foresight's with Pitt, that is Panic in their own Windmill's Minds. The Pitt Coaching Staff & Players don't see that way?

Penn State Football Program has had all the Money, Recruiting Resources, Booster's Support, and Attendance over Pitt since 1960s to today and always will have such advantages. Yet, it is Penn State that has had less Player's Success, struggles more in the Big Ten than ever, and was covering up multiple Scandals to Win to keep making the Money but not so great in Wins since 1986 either. Along with a Legacy Scandal that won't go away with just a few more Wins now that Penn State is forced to follow all the Athletic integrity Laws, Rules and Regulations?

PSU & WVU in 2016 was not far above Pitt in anyway when looking closely at all games. Moreover, Pitt in just having 16 Four & Five Star Recruits the Pitt Players discovered more Quality Talent in 2016 than PSU & WVU the last 5 years and that includes CFB & NFL Honors.
