Pitt @ Louisville Game Thread

It's almost eerie seeing how bad this Louisville team is. How long has it been since they had a year like this?

Good teams win the games they should. Glad to see them not overlook this one and avoid the quad 4 loss. 5-2 now on the road. Beat FSU and leaves some wiggle room for Wake.

If Louisville didn’t have Ellis would they even be able to score 40 points a game? Wow what a shockingly horrible team.

Nice win overall started off a little slow in the first 10 minutes but once Pitt got control of this game this game was never in doubt. Gotta keep it rolling at home on Saturday against Florida State before the two huge games at home next week against Wake and Miami.

That's kind of funny, so I looked. Obviously the season is not yet over, but unless they go on a big run it's going to be since they went 2-14 in 1940-41.

Since then the only other times they've been under .500 was the following season, 41-42, when they were 7-10, and then not again until 90-91 when they finished 14-16. They were 12-20 and 5-11 in conference in 97-98, and then 12-19 but 8-8 in conference in 00-01. And then last year they were 13-19 and 6-14 in conference.

So in the last 80 years, under .500 only three times until last year.

Regardless of how bad this year's Cardinals team is, it's gotta feel good to our team to leave the Yum! Center with a W. Keep it going Panthers vs FSU on Saturday

Billy just asked Guillermo Diaz Graham how it felt to be a part of the first Pitt team to win in the Yum Center. Predictably, Guillermo had no idea what he was talking about.

He should have asked Billy how HE felt about being a part of the broadcast team to call Pitt's first win at the Yum. That "how did it feel to . . . " is the most overused question in these post-game interviews.

Especially when you ask a question like that to a guy who hasn't even been in the country that long.

Maybe Billy thought the status of the Pitt - Louisville basketball series was a big topic of discussion on the Canary Islands?

Well based on his broad cast the past 15 years or so I think Billy isn’t even on planet earth most of the time

That was a lot of fun, although, the Doom & Gloom inside of me kept panicking and i had to keep turning the channel to the Auburn game. It seemed every time I was watching our game the lead would get chipped into. I thought it was nice to see us overcome poor nights by Hinson & Cummings. The big Spanish Gaucho finished with seven or eight rebounds. I like that. It’s nice to see the guys when they enjoy playing together. They really seem to like each other.

Hail to Pitt

It's not even a big topic of discussion in Pittsburgh!

Maybe Billy should've asked him in Spanish 🤡. This win must've felt good to both Billy and Curtis ...

Billy did try to throw a couple of Spanish words at him. At one point he was trying to go with "hermano", which means brother, but I'll bet you'll be surprised to know that his pronunciation was not good.

What? That does not surprise you? Huh.

Joe, I live in Arizona and rarely try to watch the game and listen to Hillgrove and Aiken simultaneously. I almost did that tonight, though. Wes Durham has been the play-by-play guy for more Pitt losses (both BB and FB) on ACCN than I care to recall

You’re probably right but being a life long pitt fan and watching recent teams collapse in the second half of the seasons makes it hard to shake that feeling of pending doom. LOL
I feel the same way watching early parts of games on TV. Not so much at the arena. It's wierd.
