Minor victory. The late run and 7 point loss means oue NET will only drop by 10-11 instead of 18-20
Should have been taking it inside from the very start given how thin ND’s bench is. I understand this team lives and dies by the 3 but they need to be quicker to switch to going inside more often if it’s clear guys are having off shooting nights.
We could have had 3 of their guys out halfway through the 2nd half if we had committed to a more physical game early on.
After all that…we make even our normal FT% we win.
They should’ve kept fouling that dingle berry at the end of the game.

I think the NET will drop probably 9 or 10. Losing by 7 definitely helped. Still playing for an ACC regular season championship on Saturday in Miami keep in mind so all is not lost just yet. I expect Pitt to play much better Saturday then they did tonight with so much at stake. Even with this loss tonight Pitt is still in the NCCA Tournament. It’s ridiculous to talk about them being on the bubble even with this loss tonight. One loss isn’t gonna put them out. They have done enough at this point to get in.
You can't expect the bad shooting to continue all game, though. It did tonight, even at the free-throw line.
NET is so stupid that I almost feel like the late run is a moral victory because it saved us 8-10 NET spots
To be fair though, that's only because still, after all this time, you have no idea how the NET is used.
Yea for sure losing by 7 looks a hell of a lot better then by 15 or 20. The NET rank will drop for sure probably into the low 60’s which still isn’t a complete disaster.

I missed the beginning of this game. I turned on when it was 10-7 in the first 4 minutes and from right then, not knowing what happened, I thought we were in deep trouble. The 10 early points I assumed were from 3s and I assumed Pitt wasnt playing any defense.
Didn’t get to see the second half but turns out the last four minutes of the first half was the ball game. Gave a team that lost a bunch of close games enough cushion in the second half to stay ahead
Was worried about this game due to it being between and emotional win and a big game with Miami coupled with breys last game. I despised Nd too so that makes it ten times worse
