Hopefully we see Pitt’s name with these transfers starting tomorrow. Capel had a quote that they’d be looking at prospects as soon as they’re back at the hotel.

I have a larger wheelhouse than that, btw. I have kids and connects everywhere. The Minnesota kid I like I never coached, knew etc but he played for one of my best friends. I was best man at his wedding in SC. My wheelhouse is LARGE

Those are B list. The UNLV dude is C list. Maybe Duquesne will be interested. Pitt can be somewhat selective. There will be several thousand players in the portal

There are 4719 D1 scholarships. If you figure 3 players from each team run out of eligibility, that means there are 3630 players eligible to transfer. Of those 3630, 1649, almost half entered the transfer portal. This is AAU basketball. There will be countless players available that could play at the ACC level. Some would be stars, some solid starters, some bench players. This staff can be somewhat selective and needs to do a great job scouting and watching film.
Yeah I won’t get excited about any of these guys until they get linked with Pitt.
Anyone remember the kid from Citadel who went off for 27points against us last year? He averaged 15pts as an frosh and then hit the portal, ended up at Richmond and is a bench player averaging 6pts a game.
Yet people think Drumgoole should be coming back after his stint at Albany. No thanks.
He's an elite shooter. Had the 2nd most 3s in the A10. Other parts of his game probably prevented him from playing more.
Just off the top of my head, shouldn't the number decrease each year as we get past the extra "covid" year?
Yeah, next spring should be the last year a lot of the guys have the extra COVID year.

You are correct which is why I'm saying we cant rely on lesser-recruited transfers. Have to beat like or better programs eventually for players.
Maybe a little but not drastically. At the end of the day, the number of D1 players is the same. These Covid year players dont give teams extra scholarships. Even after the Covid year ends, there will still be 4719 D1 players and a good portion of those will still look to transfer.

25th leading scorer in D1. That's an A-list name. No chance a year ago. Would be really tough now but have a better chance. Will have to beat good programs and come up with NIL money
