Huge home win vs Maryland. I admit to being wrong about this team. I still dont think their players are that good but they went 9-1 at home in the Big Ten (1-8 on the road) so that's good enough to get them in. I was also wrong about Pikiell. He has done an amazing job with that team. They have less talent than we do but are going to the NCAAT while our team limps to the finish line.

I always admit when I'm wrong. I am just really shocked. Watching them play us, I actually felt bad for him and Rutgers. I didn't think they were good at all and I didn't think we played well that game. I was thinking "if Capel had a team like this in Year 4, we'd be outraged." I know Baker and Harper are decent players and they have a legit big but I truly felt Capel Year 2 was way ahead of Pikiell Year 4. Congrats to Pikiell. He has to get out of there ASAP and maybe Brandin can take over.
I'm having a hard time picking between Pikiell and Dambrot for best job of raising the dead. Add in Ped State being ranked, and I have to think in a weird weird year, I'm grabbing some of that weird mojo, and using it to send Pitt to a major bowl this year. If those three corpses can be raised, why not Pitt football?

Yea. They have an AA caliber player and one of the better Bigs in the country. He did a nice job getting some good wing players, enough for them to make NITs but I cant see them making the NCAAT again under him. He's another guy who has to cash in.
I have a suspicion that every prospect in Rivals Top 150 received his first offer from Rutgers. They do take a shotgun approach to recruiting.
Why would he want to stay there? Getting Rutgets to the NCAAT should enable him to name his job.
He’s from the northeast, will continue to win there especially when he lands big Cliff. He’s a superior coach, as I told you before the season. One of the guys who can win anywhere.
I cannot deal with Rutgers being good at basketball especially if we continue to suck. He has to leave. Rutgers is broke and their arena is sh!t. A big name school has to be able to pay him double what Rutgers can or maybe he can get one of those $EC jobs.

"Clinched"? They have a strong resume of home wins, but you do realize that they have 1 true road win all year right? That was against an awful Nebraska team. They'll probably get in because their NET is at 34, the bubble is weak, and they have nice Quad 1 home victories, but away from the RAC they are just an ok basketball team that lost to Pitt by double digits and St. Bonaventure on a neutral court. I wish Pitt were in the position that Rutgers is in right now, so you could call it sour grapes, but if you dive into the schedule a little the facts come out. No home games in the NCAA tournament.
Yea they aren't a good team but somehow, some way, they play way above their level at home. I would put them right there with us, Wake, GT in terms of talent. They are winning on toughness, grit, character, emotion, and coaching.
clinched implies sure thing....lose to purdue and lose in the first round of the big 10 tourney and that means they are 10-11 and 19-13 losing 5 of their last 6 (8 out of their last 11)...
The way you are thinking about Rutgers is the same way people were thinking about us with Howland and Jamie in his early years. I think RU is very similar in style and kind of players from us back then.
