NCAA tourney "wins".

We totally screwed Oklahoma State and also Penn State. LOL. If this was even last year's Pitt squad, our RPI likely would have been high enough to boost theirs and got them into the tourney. Especially OK State. But because we were the equivalent of playing a MEAC school this year, both of those teams got no help and their RPI's harmed by playing and beating us.

So....we can perhaps hang a Sweet 16 banner of sorts, because we knocked off two tourney teams.

I was also thinking that 2 years ago we kept the nitters out of the football playoff by beating them, and now we helped to keep them out of the hoops tourney too because we sucked so bad. It's the little things that get me through this miserable hoops season.

Penn State was a 4 seed for the NIT. As much as I want to take credit here, I don't think a bad pitt team changed their end result. There are roughly a dozen team between psu and the NCAA tourney

Maybe ok State, not psu. They weren't gonna get in with 1 good non-conference game played, not won, but played. Even with that win, they had a terrible non-conference loss on their resume. Quite frankly the big ten just wasn't good enough to get another team with such a poor non-conference resume, and they were likely still behind conference foe Nebraska.

"Recruitesreadtheseboards" so they'll be reading about how this school sucks so bad they want to hang a banner for having an RPI so low it keeps other schools out of the tourney! LOL!

The NITS had to move up 10 spots just to make the next 4 out so I doubt our minuscule RPI had much effect.

Oklahoma State, much like Louisville and USC, didn't miss the tournament for what they did on the court this year so much as what they have been doing off of it.

Secret probation is a little shameful, though, even by the NCAA's already low standards.

No, the team we may have knocked out of the dance was Notre Dame. The commitee chair said on CBS Radio yesterday that they were the last team out (when Davidson knocked off Rhode Island) and specifically mentioned that while the Irish won after Colson came back that two of their three wins were against Pitt. So, essentially, the committee didn't value the wins, and, while not said explicitly, it was implied that Pitt nearly beating ND in the opening tourney game may have hurt ND from an eye-test perspective.

So you are saying we are now in the Elite 8 because we have three knock outs.

We suck so bad that playing us hurts our opponents SOS? that's the angle here?
