I have no doubts of your word or your physical toughness. That's not the point. But unless you've ran into a situation where you saw a child being abused and been disgusted by the scene you really don't know how you'd respond in the heat of the moment. You might have stopped and vomited before anything else.

That said, I definitely would have followed up with a call to the police and media. The lack of follow up is whats inexcusable in happy valley.
