Steelers Free Agency

I’ll be really interested to see the draft and performance next year. They don’t have an elite offensive player like KC or Buffalo, but I’m definitely more optimistic than @Fk_Pitt or @Zeldas Open Roof.

Within the division, the Browns stink and the Ravens torched their chances by playing hardball with Lamar. Burrow is good but I don’t think that team stays as strong once he and Chase cash in.

Hit on a draft pick or three and the Steelers are right back in the thick of things.
I agree with you w/r to the Steelers but not sure about your comment on the Ravens and Jackson. Sounds like you’re saying the Ravens should have opened the checkbook and gave Jackson what he wanted. Since it’s reported that Jackson wants more guaranteed than what the Browns gave Watson, can’t say I agree with that thinking. I sure wouldn’t give that much to him.

To move up 5 spots, say to jump ahead of the Jets (who might take Jones), Steelers would need to give up an early to mid 3rd rounder, which they have to trade. Their mid second is too steep unless they get something additional in return. I'd actually consider making this trade if Jones is available in Houston's spot, because the Jets need an OT to protect Rogers.

The Jets trading back with the Packers helped the Steelers here. They didn't have to move up as many spots (Jets were prviously higher), and so instead of giving up a third round pick for Jones, the Steelers only gave up a 4th rounder. Based on trade value, the Steelers actually got a deal on this trade.

If the Steelers move down from #32, they could net anywhere from a 3rd to 4th round pick, based on the spot they land. If Tenn gives up their 3rd round pick, it's a huge win for the Steelers.
