Steelers vs Ravens Gamethread

With the expanded playoffs taking away the bye for the #2 seed this game is huge since the Steelers won’t have a real bye week this season.

Watching it live thought that was an obvious late hit, after seeing the replay not so sure.

Personal Foul Call Gave Them 7. Minkah didn’t do anything wrong on that play but Heyward hit him unnecessarily.

Can’t let Jackson beat you throwing, that’s for damn sure.
If he beats you with the type of throws he made on the last drive, you have to live with it. Those were all mostly big-time throws.

I do not think he is a bad passer, just not a great one. The Ravens have done a great job protecting him and allowing him to grow at a steady pace. Soon, he will be pretty good as a passer. But, for now, a lot of it is good play calling and using their running game (which includes him) as a strong crutch. The Steelers did this excellent long ago with Ben, as have had many teams that did it right with young QBs.

Going to go out on a limb and say this is one of those games the Steelers will need some semblance of a running game to win. I don’t think they can just drop back and throw it 40 times and be successful, their DB’s are too good.

Gotta do a better job on these first down runs if they are going to win they are getting gashed for four yards

Need a couple first downs, seems like defense has been on field forever already.

As per usual the defense needs to flip the field position here and they have about a 1-2 play cushion to do it.

I don’t remember the last time the Steelers had an above average punter.
And we’ve even tried drafting one relatively high in the draft. That didn’t work out. What was his name and what round did we unbelievably draft him in?

Tuitt is a stud. If the guy could ever stay healthy, he would make some Pro Bowls. At least he got the contract, that is the important thing.
