Steelers vs Ravens Gamethread

I know Jacksonville is trash but that really looks like a trap game, on the road against a bad team then the Ravens coming into town on a short week.
I take the trash out every week. Stillers do as well. If they lose a Jacksonville squad well that is bad news.

There were a few of us (you included) saying he was a Top 5 coach in the NFL when others were saying to fire him last year.

I was never part of the fire Tomlin crowd, thats just being silly, but when I see the assclowns some of these teams have out there on a weekly basis I concede that I may have underestimated him.

Anthony Lynn is the absolute worst, that guy is a total buffoon the way he manages late game situations. Matt Nagy not far behind, he does at least one thing per week that even the announcers have no clue what he’s doing.

His first few years Tomlin was a liability with his clock management bloopers, he has improved tremendously in that department.

the Steelers are an incredible organization. Tomlin is going to be a hall of fame coach. He has a chance to be top ten in all time wins. The Steelers are ALWAYS competitive. Tomlins big challenge will be when Ben is eventually gone, can they come up with another franchise type QB. Those of us that have been lifelong Steeler fans have been very lucky (I was 10 years old or so when the Steelers won the first Super Bowl) .

If the team doctor didn't commit medical malpractice, the Chargers would be starting Tyrod Taylor.

After Gase, Anthony Lynn is easily the worst coach in the NFL.

I will disagree with this slightly, I think “Fathead” has become much more of a game manager type QB this year, which is exactly what this team needed. They are good enough on defense that they don’t need a QB throwing the ball into tight spots and taking a lot of chances.

This team will be better in the long run with game manager Roethlisberger rather than the guy from the last few years that had some spectacular games, but had way, way too many turnovers. I give him a lot of credit for changing his style of play at this stage of his career. They just need him to be steady to give the Steelers their best chance to win.
Ben is still throwing the ball into the tight spots a few times per game, although I agree probably not as much as he once did. I think he has become more of a game manager and taking less chances but I think he has slowly been evolving into that over the last few years he has played. It's not a sudden thing.

Humphrey tests positive for COVID. Played the entire game yesterday vs Pittsburgh

Another thing that gets lost is that there are some guys theyve drafted in the last year or two that have been made significant contributions

Obviously Claypool but .......Buggs............Johnson.......Spillaine.........Bush.......Dotson.......and Highsmith (who has been impressive when hes played) have all made contributions

Then add in Fitzpatrick and the infusion of talent the last two years has been huge.........
