I’ve discussed this strategy with a few others and everyone seems to agree that mathematically it’s the correct move.

The numbers I have seen show that it is a net gain of a few percent of win probability, but it seems like it should be even higher than that.

If you get at least one play where they have no timeouts and the clock runs I have no problem with the 3 runs up the middle. But when they don’t even need to burn all their timeouts it seems kind of dumb.
