I think he was out of real estate to still be taking it at that angle. Although Russ probably could have done a better job at trusting his receiver to adjust. He could have floated it just about anywhere behind the DB and let Williams catch it like a punt.
That's what I was thinking. He's so good at throwing that balloon ball, just loft it up and let Williams run under it.
Hope I'm wrong, but it feels like a day where the defense really needs to keep those 7's off the board.

Is there any coach in Pittsburgh that knows how to have their defense cover the medium/deep middle of the field?
I get it, sometimes a blown coverage will happen, but this is every week from both Pitt and the Steelers.

Steelers are at least 5-0 against teams currently in the playoffs. Pitt couldn't beat a team that didn't proverbially defecate its pants and throw up in its shoulder pads.
That penalty could lose us this game if they capitalize on it. Didn't hit him hard, but that was still dumb af... after he already got away with one.

Why wouldn't they at least try a hard count to get in field goal range?

The Browns suck this year, and will probably finish 3-12 against teams that aren’t the Steelers. Yet I wouldn’t bet a penny on the Steelers winning this game.
They sucked with Watson at Qb. They are not bad with Winston.
I'm willing to bet that Arthur Smith has ran the ball on 2nd after an incompletion on 1st at least 90% of the time this season. Might wanna self scout a little better, cause I think defense are onto it.
Well if the offense can't gain any yards maybe we can penalty our way down the field.
When you run the ball successfully the first seven plays of a drive, when you decide to pass on the 8th play wouldn't play action be something to consider?
