Steelers/Redskins

Simply not true. Case in point…watt and Highsmith had 0 tackles today. Do you think they didn’t impact the game? Of course they did. Same can be said about Peezy Jr. He’s not always great, but he’s counted on to do things within this defense…and he does it more times than not. But today Peezy wasn’t good.
He’s gonna have to adjust and I can’t imagine they aren’t gonna drill him in practice. The knock on him was that he was too handsy at times. He got away with it a fair amount previously but not so much any more.

They need to do something about this. Maybe each team gets three injury stoppages per half. After that they either use a timeout, or the other team chooses between 5 yards penalty or the injured player being out the remainder of the game.

If they have to stop the game for your injury you have to sit out the rest of the series. If that's one more play, fine. If it's 10 more plays, too bad.

Costly win. I rolled my ankle bad 3 weeks ago and still have trouble. Can’t imagine Highsmith being back in under a month…at best.
Better than a costly loss. The unfortunate thing is the injury came on a relatively innocent looking play as well.

If I recall correctly, Kenny said that he was confident Russell Wilson was going to be a bust for the Steelers. Maybe he will be , have his bust in the Hall of Fame !

I will say I didn’t think Russ was actually interested in playing -
But I’m glad Tomlin made the move .

That was tough for the defense. The offense has them on their heals in the situation
uh, In that everyone who has ever watched football knows the Steelers were never ever, I mean never ever ever going to snap the ball there there was nothing tough about it....you would think that and the 30 second lecture to not jump offsides would have done the trick..

probably one of the biggest block head moves i've seen in a long long time.

When I first watched this, I noticed and loved Brodericks reaction. Then I watched and thought McCormicks trumped it. Then I watched again and saw Dan Moore’s pelvic thrusts, and well, I have no words.

Hopefully Highsmith's injury is not season ending. I did something like that years ago. I turned my ankle going down some steps. I didn't break anything, but it hurt like hell when I did it. My ankle was black and blue for a few weeks. I'd say he's going to be out at least 4 weeks if nothing is torn or broke.
It gave my PTSD of my
Trimolar fracture and dislocation from last November .
But he’s actually an athlete so hopefully it’s just a sprain with tightrope surgery

not sure whether or not it is enough of a late game brain fart to move Nasir Robinson down a spot on the all time list...I'd say no.
no, nasir robinson is the measuring stick for that award. all else pales in comparison..

It's like the Steelers actually have a leader playing QB, they never really had one with Ben since he was a grade a creep and was the first to throw someone under the bus.

I wasn’t 100% on board with Russ, but 90% of the people here certainly weren’t and I always cautioned to leave the door slightly open and to be open minded because the rhetoric out of Denver was suspicious to say the least. His “toxic positivity” was an always a bizarre one for me, and I really think his experience and maturity can help guys like Broderick and George mature and grow.

His demise is a classic example how a false narrative can grow in todays environment. He’s still younger than some guys we’ve seen succeed in the last few years.

At this point, acknowledging the Steelers have the hardest part of their schedule coming up, but they have to be in consideration to come out of the AFC right? I know the Chiefs keep winning, but they look beatable week in and week out.

Of course, I don't think anyone is beating the Lions but we'll see.

feel like we are in that top tier of the afc. chiefs, bils, us and ravens and everyone else far away in the rearview. Houston lost last night despite getting 19 turnovers.

who else is there really? Denver, Chargers and colts i guess, still not ready to put a fork in the bungles either. but man oh man, are we sitting pretty for playoffs. if we go 4-4, we get in easily with probably the top wildcard seed..

but before we pop the champagne, probably best to see the last 8 games. brutal brutal schedule coming up with ravens twice, bengals twice, iggles and chiefs. with that said, we put ourselves in an incredible position going into the 2nd half of the season..

Don't forget the Brownies!
Sweep the Browns, split with Ravens and Bengals, and win one of KC/Philly and we are AFC North champions.

If that guy makes the stop on 4th down, how does us having two timeouts make it any harder for them to go about 15-20 yards to get into field goal range?
We were going to call timeOut and punt.
They were never going for it in that field position with a 1 point lead .

Yeah exactly. That's why it was such a boneheaded move. He was trying to win the game, but it was never going to work. Just like Nasir Robinson's foul on Howard. In a tie game, Howard had 1.4 seconds and was 90 feet away from the basket and facing sideways. Howard was never going to get a quality shot off even if nobody on Pitt played any defense. the game was going to OT. Basically the only way it wasn't going to OT was if someone committed a foul.

Well
Nasir was going for an offensive rebound off the Gil missed FT, which either wins the game with a put back - or is at least neutral going to get overtime with a rebound .
Howard got position so the over the back was called .

It hurt but was an affirmative play to try to win.

The DT jumping wasn’t since in no way were the stillers snapping the ball.
I mean - if Tomlin lost his mind and went for it - it is likely a pass considering the defense shown .

can we please not talk about nasir robinson? That play was so bad it still hurts to think about. it is the epitome of bone headed plays..

its literally why every coach at every level at high school and beyond, pulls his players back to half court, to avoid this.

The Steelers weren't snapping the ball! They would have either called a timeout and then punted or take a delay of game to move back 5 yards to give the punter a better shot at pinning Washington inside the 10. What the Steelers did in that situation is what every team in the NFL, NCAA FBS, FCS, Division 2, NAIA, High School and Middle School would have done.

yes, we all agree, hence the reason everyone on here is calling it a bone headed play with zero reward. and the comparisons to Nasir robinson
