PSN reports that the big news was that Jim Tressel has reached out to Pitt through a search firm to show interest in the AD job. It does say that Pitt has not reciprocated or spoken to Tressel. It adds that fund-raising is a big priority for an AD, and Tressel would be a splash with that.

we could do a whole hell of a lot worse than that--and we have--like Scott Barnes or Steve Pedersen. The guy is not only one of the best college football coaches of the last 30 years, he has done big things at YSU--increased enrollment, academic performance, average incoming student test scores and grades, fundraising, and he has strengthened the university's finances enormously. Plus, he and Narduzzi are close. He's only making 300k at YSU. Let's get this done.
