The Twins……

take that stance.. that's fine.. but don't say they have a ton of potential.. you can't seriously believe they can be really good college players but not make the NBA.
Hi let me introduce you to Zach Edy. Oh and Bacot. Oh and Hunter Dickinson and Drew Timme. They all wanted to say hi to you.

I do have a comp for Fede and that would be Nic Claxton for the Nets. A shot blocker, rim runner, high effort guy, unselfish. Fede just needs to become a better offensive rebounder and develop a better touch to finish around the basket.

I don't mind that comp.. Nic Claxton lite... Claxton should be DPOY this year.

That makes a ton of sense. There’s no middle ground between being busts and being NBA players apparently.

This isn’t politics. There is middle ground.
They could develop into really good college players and be 23 years old by the time they go to the draft. I don’t think they’d be drafted at that point, and then it’s a tough road to hoe to get to the NBA.

If they’re about where I think their ceiling is, they’ll make a good living in Spain once their careers are over.

you don't get it... there really isn't a middle ground with these kids. If they didn't progress, they're going to Spain to play.

look at their measurables right now... 7', long, athletic.

they can already shoot. they can pass very well. they are very in tune with the European game which the NBA is gravitating towards with the spacing and movement.

there isn't a version of them being really good that doesn't include them not being good shooters. If they're really good college players, they'll be really good shooters. If they're really good college players, they'll be really good passers. If they're really good college players, they'll be solid defensively (put on some weight). There isn't a version of them being really good college players and morphing into Bacot and not being able to shoot or do anything else besides draw fouls.

you said they have potential to be really good college players.. that version of these twins is a 7' that can run, jump, pass, shoot, and dribble. they have the skill set to already do a lot of that, just at a lite level. if they improve in those areas, which if they want to be "really good college players", they HAVE TO. If they turn into that, they will make the NBA.

your argument makes zero sense unless they have surgery to shorten their height, forget how to shoot and dribble, and can't run anymore.

Really good college players like Garza, Bacot, Edy, etc. don't have room to grow into anything besides what they are.

Look at Deni Avdija. That's who these kids can be.

Timme is undersized and cant' shoot..11% from 3!. Dickinson can't move. Bacot can't move. Edy can't move.

none of these kids are remotely like the twins in any sense besides height. you can't be that clueless, can you?

Aren't the professional leagues in the entire continent of Europe more or less littered with 6'10" skinny dudes who can shoot?

there's a lot of them for sure... that's what the game is turning into... but again, that's not the argument... he said they could be really good college players... to me, a really good college player is an all conference type of player. If these kids are all conference, they're NBA bound.

remember: we’re talking about kids turning 20 this year that combined are averaging 5/5 at 7 foot tall going to the National Basketball Association. This is seriously what some are arguing here.

They’ve now spent 2 years in elite strength programs in the US. They’re not getting much bigger.

no it's not.. stop it. I said they have the potential to. you said they could be really good college players... now want to bash their stats? lol i'm out.

Do you guys think Mo Gueye was a really good college player last year? I do.

sorry, can't help myself.. you're putting yourself in quite a pretzel here... you think Mo was really good last year... yet our BEST player last year.. John .... is basically the worst P6 player, according to you.... interesting analysis here.

He’s not the worst P6 player, but had he kept playing this year he would’ve been the worst P6 starter and this team would have an inverse ACC record.

He’s really that bad. Anyone who doesn’t understand this yet can’t be taken seriously.

But correct, I’m in a pretzel for thinking most likely 23 year old euros when they would be eligible for the draft who have done nothing to this point aren’t gonna play in the NBA.

Mo Gueye played both sides of the court. Hugley has never played defense.

I would love to be wrong about this, which would mean they greatly exceeded my expectations. For this reason, I won’t steal your money.

I want to root for them to beat those odds. But I ain’t wrong

So given all the talk about twins and Fede, where does a team 2 years from now with Senior Fede and Santos and Junior Twins get in the ACC and post-season…I know a lot would depend on guards, but assuming that core 4 sticks around…I feel chemistry is half the battle and they have had some good stuff when together this year on the court.

You said it. All depends what guards are here. Guards drive the tourney runs

The question is, can a team with those guys and 1-2 years into Lowe/Carrington/Cummings in the backcourt equation drive a tourney run? Who replaces Blake when his eligibility is up (2-3 years from now)?

How much more quality - and what level of quality - are we going to need out of the portal to complement what we’ll already have on the roster? Are we able to hit jackpot and get Meleek Thomas for a year?

So back to the original question -- if they are made for European game, why wouldn't they go there after this season? Why would they stay in school at Pitt, when they can further hone their games as pros? They've developed some toughness this year and I don't think they are going to get exponentially tougher in year 2 at Pitt. What they need to do is develop their bodies. To develop muscle, it takes a lot of food intake and lots of hours at sleep, on top of work in the weight room. Waking up early to go to class each morning doesn't help. I think their best chances of adding muscle are as professionals. If they do develop physically while over in Spain, I think the NBA will be able to find them.

I can't answer that question. What I do know is that players are featured way more over here than over there. Way easier to score over here. Way easier to be the "guy" over here. Playing in Spain, different rules. Way harder to score. Ball flows better and that's the way they like to play, but playing that way over here makes the game easier. I think they can shine more over here... but I agree with your point about adding weight. Way easier to do it when you don't have to worry about going to class and doing homework.. instead just focusing on hoops.

I don't have a problem adding weight and I don't go to class or play basketball. What am I missing?
