Starting lineup:

Pulisic - Ferriera - Weah

McKinnie - Adams - Musah

Robinson - Long - Zimmerman - Yedlin

Johnson

Supposedly McKinnie will play no more than the first 45.

But we all see where this is going, right? Turner, Steffan and Horvath are all only playing semi-regularly over in England and Burphalter decides that he's got to start Sean Johnson in goal in the World Cup. Even though NYCFC gets knocked out of the playoffs a month before the Cup starts.

The one possible change from that lineup is that Robinson didn't practice today because he was sick. If he cannot play tomorrow Scally will start in his place.

Our GK situation sucks. Turner has shown to improve his feet. He looked good the other night. But he and our other top keepers aren’t going to be in form unless out top 2 go out on loan and Horvath finds himself as a starter. I really hope Turner can do that because I have no faith in Steffen. And like you said, Johnson is supposed to be ready?

I watched a little of England today. They actually lost to a glorified MLS team. Now before someone here gets all excited, it’s a meaningless game in June where a manager played a couple of guys who won’t sniff the field and he was trying some things out. But man they looked vulnerable against the counter.

Steffen really has fallen from good form over the 2nd half of the season and he is very injury prone. I would go with Turner as #1. I always thought the future of the position was going to be a battle between Sean Johnson and Bill Hamid. Boy has Hamid fallen far off the pace.

Horvath won't find himself #1 at Forest. Brice Samba safely has that secured and is very steady with them.

I think Derpaderp has to go with Turner, he has very good range and is a very good shot stopper. I'd rate him as our best option and it's really not even close.

BTW, I don't know if anyone noticed this, because I didn't see anything about it in the game stories I read, but in the Championship Final Horvath actually came on as a late substitute. I assume Samba got injured and they were forced to make a move (and fortunately for them, they had a substitute left). But like I said, I read a couple articles on the game and none of them even mentioned what you would have thought would have been a big talking point when it actually happened.

Another thing, and I guess this is as good as anyplace to put it, but in case anyone missed it like I did, Arlo White is out as the NBC Premier League announcer. They have replaced him with Peter Drury.

I started a thread about this but never posted it. I’m in the minority but I loved arlo White. And when he wasn’t doing a game of interest for NBC, the EPL worldwide feed that was picked up by NBC featured Drury. So every week I was hearing the voice of one or the other.

but now arlo is headed to MLS and Drury will be doing the match of the week for NBC. He won’t be heard around the world or in the UK anymore. That’s like Al Michaels doing the NFL in Europe and leaving the US. So while it’s a coup for NBC, I think we as fans will suffer a bit because we’ve always had Drury anyways.

Brits are irate. They lose Drury to the Yanks. They aren’t happy. Lol.

I feel bad. But selfishly I preferred Wales so I’m ok with it. But it is sad.
I'm all for whatever is a better match for USAMNT, and I also like not being stuck hearing about the war story every minute until they are eliminated.

Hot off the morning wire at Sky Sports Transfer Centre. Brice Samba won't be signing a new contract with Forest and wants to leave this summer. The door could be open for Horvath to take the #1. I'm sure Forest will absolutely do their due diligence in looking for a replacement on the market, but it gives Horvath the opportunity to compete for the #1 unless they bring in a Nicky Pope or Jordan Pickford.

That’s encouraging! In other transfer news, Jorginho and Pogba are linked with Juventus. I’m wondering what folks think this means for McKennie. There were Spurs rumblings as well as others but I haven’t heard anything new. Can McKennie coexist with those two guys?

additionally still hearing Klopp is interested in Pulisic as a Mane replacement. It’s no secret. xM had on that Graeme Bailey today who I don’t like and asked him specifically about Christian, and all the idiot could say is he hasn’t been good enough at Chelsea. He didn’t say a word about Liverpool. I still hope Puli goes there and scores 20 goals and shuts everyone up.

I personally would take McKennie over Pogba everyday of the week. McKennie will give it his all. Pogba "may" give it his all. Pogba is a next level talent but he is lazy and rarely fully focused.

Sometimes I hate US Soccer.

That's interesting. I just assumed the game was on ESPN+ because ESPN was hoping to sell a few more subscriptions. Imagine that, it isn't ESPN's greed that led to this.

BTW, the fact that it is hot in Austin, Texas on June 10th shocks no one, except the simpletons who also thought that the game in Minnesota in the middle of winter was a good idea.

And if anyone wants to watch the game (and is up on their Spanish) it is on TUDN.
