And they do very little weight training.
This is one of my favorites. He is listed at 200 pounds. The dude is a freak with rare size for his speed and talent.
I think if this had been a 1-0 loss to the American A Team, it could be more acceptable. A 2 game losing streak to the US isn't good. But the 2nd loss, being as close to a Mexican A Team as possible against a solid B team for US...the FMF can't take this lightly, can they? The Mexican team was not good all tournament long. But regarding last night, that’s just a tough one for him. How can his group come with the same energy that they would have brought if we brought our best? I know it’s a coaches job to get them ready…but human nature is a funny thing. He will fall on the sword though.
So you assume he'd be in the NFL or NBA or something like that? Personally I think it's a stretch to believe that if NFL players had played soccer all their lives they'd be in the Premier League. Or Lukaku would be in the NFL if he played football. I suppose anything's possible, but maybe if LeBron had played only soccer, he might of washed out after high school, or played at Pitt or USL, or not at all. this idea that everyone's athleticism would transfer to any sport is suspect to me. But SMF is convinced Lionel Messi would be a Hall of Fame 2B if he played baseball LOL! I'm not convinced. Also, there's no guarantee that poor black kids will be better players than white kids who's parents can afford the pay to play team.
It’s just the battle US Soccer faces. Our best athletes more often than not are still migrating to football. I just met a kid last week who is an elite soccer player who has spent his youth at a top club locally. He’s in 7th or 8th grade right now. He looks like a junior. The varsity boys soccer coach told me that if the kid were on the HS team right now he’d be it’s best player, even vs kids that our 4-5 years older. Incidentally, this HS is a soccer power and a football doormat. Guess what sport he will be playing in HS? Yep he’s playing football because he’s already earmarked to be the future QB.So you assume he'd be in the NFL or NBA or something like that? I'm sure there are cases like that. However, it's possible that he might go pro as a QB and never make it pro if he stuck to soccer, or vice versa. Maybe he'd make it pro if he stuck to soccer and ends up flopping as a college QB instead. Or maybe he'd make it either or neither way. It’s just the battle US Soccer faces. And then he will probably transfer to Central Catholic. Lol.
You had to mention him. Now he's gonna show up here like a spirit from a Ouija Board and wreak havoc on this thread. So you assume he'd be in the NFL or NBA or something like that? I mention that all the time when the conversation is, "...if our best athletes played soccer". to me the whole idea that Lionel Messi would surely be a hall of famer if he played baseball, is the craziest thing he ever said. You had to mention him. I've lost track of what he has said. He never disappoints and finds a way to hijack every conversation. No doubt he wears a tin foil hat, thinks the government instructed his dentist to place diodes in teeth and thinks the CIA placed microscopic listening devices in the covid vaccine that attaches itself to his organs.I mention that all the time when the conversation is, "...if our best athletes played soccer". to me the whole idea that Lionel Messi would surely be a hall of famer if he played baseball, is the craziest thing he ever said.
Actually he’s at the opposite end of lunacy on Covid. He was probably so disappointed that they packed 65k into that stadium that he refused to watch because it was a super spreader event.I've lost track of what he has said. Ahhhh, so you're telling me he sat on his couch, watching this match alone, with a mask and face shield on. That is so realistic, it's scary.Actually he’s at the opposite end of lunacy on Covid. although most of those fans were Mexican, and SMF is totally fine with Covid positive spreaders coming across our borders in large numbers.
What is funny is this has really also affected baseball. Black kids, poor, inner city black kids, aren't playing baseball either. Many of the black kids who play baseball at a high level are "privileged" also....like K'Bryan Hayes who's dad was Charlie Hayes, ex MLB player, Kumar Rocker, who's dad was Tracy Rocker, the #1 prospect in next year's MLB draft is Elijah Green, son of ex Steelers TE Eric Green. Look at the Pirates 2nd rd pick, Lonnie White Jr, the kid who spurned PSU to sign with the Pirates. He played high school ball at Malvern Prep, which is fairly prestigious. It’s just the battle US Soccer faces. Our best athletes more often than not are still migrating to football. Absolutely crazy. Completely different skill sets. There is athletic ability, then their are skills that are specific. They don't always go hand in hand. Look at Charles Barkley, a tremendous athlete who thrived in the NBA despite being 6'4". He golfs all the time....and he is worse than I am still, despite I am sure all of the high quality equipment and teaching that money could buy. I see alot of guys who can run fast and jump high, but they have little hand eye coordination, or spatial coordination.I mention that all the time when the conversation is, "...if our best athletes played soccer". to me the whole idea that Lionel Messi would surely be a hall of famer if he played baseball, is the craziest thing he ever said.
I think just about everything is pay to play these days. Heck, for the most part boxing is ‘privileged’ - at least locally. And Zardes...that's why he gets the criticism he gets.

But he has cool hair. That game last night was him in a nutshell. They played a good team, and he completely disappeared. They probably played 20 balls into him last night a center forward, and I know he won one of them, and he might have won two, but I know that he didn't win three. And when you are playing against a team that wants to possess the ball the way that the Mexicans do that simply is not good enough.
And I get that that's a tough job. But there were more times last night when he stepped up to play the ball, and then the ball went completely over his head, like as if he had no idea where it was going. Like if they were playing outside and the wind was really blowing then you could see how that could keep happening. But they were playing indoors. There was no wind. He just can't judge the flight of the ball.
He ended up getting one shot on goal that was easily saved. But the good thing about it (from his perspective) was that other than that his best play on offense was the set piece when he stumble and fell and basically missed the ball, but it happened to deflect off his falling body right to Ariola for a really good chance.
When you play center forward and your best offensive contribution is a ball deflecting off you when you stumble and fall, that's just not good enough.
Most Mexican fans are not coming across the border. They live in the USA and are citizens.Actually he’s at the opposite end of lunacy on Covid. He was probably so disappointed that they packed 65k into that stadium that he refused to watch because it was a super spreader event.

Ummm, I’m intimately well aware that they live in the US and are/are not US citizens. But thanks. Most Mexican fans are not coming across the border. They live in the USA and are citizens.
I don't think Arsenal would be a good fit. He'd get no serious playing time with Aubemayang and Lacazette in front of him.Listening to the football show on Sirius. Discussion now that Arsenal and Everton are now interested in Hoppe. Show hosts believe Hoppe has the presence to play at that level, but don’t think he has the product yet. I kinda agree.
Exactly, it's like a Steelers away game, Steelers fans don't "travel well", they live there. Most Mexican fans are not coming across the border. They live in the USA and are citizens.
Some people don’t understand satire.Exactly, it's like a Steelers away game, Steelers fans don't "travel well", they live there.
A mid level Bundesliga club would be best. Somewhere he can play regular minutes.I don't think Arsenal would be a good fit. He'd get no serious playing time with Aubemayang and Lacazette in front of him.
Everton wouldn't be a good spot but have to worry about Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin who are as established as the 2some at Arsenal.
I think a mid table club, Southampton or WHU to lower level in Brighton.
It’s too bad that some of the MLS clubs weren’t more supportive of players playing during Olympic qualification. Has anyone taken a look at that competition? The US certainly could have been a semi finalist at the Olympics. That group that Honduras was in was very winnable.
SMF wanted to send Pulisic, McKinnie. adams and Dest.Egypt, New Zealand and Ivory Coast all made the quarterfinals. Tells you a little about the quality of the tournament.
SMF wanted to send Pulisic, McKinnie. adams and Dest.
If he was born here? Forget that. Give him a year of training and he would make an NFL roster somewhere.
Yep, which is why we should have sent them if we qualified. Might have won Gold and Americans would have cared and probably watched the game. They would have had no clue they beat U24 B teamsSMF wanted to send Pulisic, McKinnie. adams and Dest.
Lol. He did in 2016. Even skipped Copa America for itHe also thought that guys like Neymar would be playing for Brazil.
Lol. He did in 2016. Even skipped Copa America for it
PSG telling Neymar to rest before camp is completely different than Chelsea telling Pulisic to go play in the Gold Cup instead of the OlympicsHe wanted to do it this year too. But his club told him no. As you were told they would. And you kind of just laughed off.
It's as if you don't recognize that something has been going on in the world recently that has made the soccer calendar this year completely different than what it was five years ago.
You had to speak his name. Look what you did. Thread...ruined.SMF wanted to send Pulisic, McKinnie. adams and Dest.
Nopd because soccer fans, who mostly lean left would mostly be vaccinated. Not too many MAGA guys rooting on the US in Vegas. They were at UFCAhhhh, so you're telling me he sat on his couch, watching this match alone, with a mask and face shield on. That is so realistic, it's scary.
His next brilliant tirade will be "SMF Prediction. SMF predicts that all fans attending the match will account for the 74.576% uptick in new covid cases in Nevada, Arizona and California." SMF loves to refer to SMF in the 3rd person.
Gretzky is one of the greatest athletes who ever lived so that would make senseAbsolutely crazy. Completely different skill sets. There is athletic ability, then their are skills that are specific. I posted a video from the early 80's of one of those Superstars competition where celebrity athletes ran a 100 yard dash. Sugar Ray Leonard, Pele, a couple of other black athletes I forget and Wayne Gretzky. And Gretzky smoked them by like 5 steps in a 100 yard dash which is quite alot.
Are all these unvaccinated individuals in NYC MAGA?? While this is NY data, I would imagine this data is similar everywhere. Is the black community MAGA? How about the NYC community? I didn’t think it was a Trump bubble there.Nopd because soccer fans, who mostly lean left would mostly be vaccinated. Not too many MAGA guys rooting on the US in Vegas. They were at UFC
