A few posters had asked me previously about the offensive ability of these two players...
Will Jeffress shooting chart with advanced stats for his high school career.
Stats in chart as a senior
24.3ppg, 9.7rpb, 2.3 apg, 1.3 steals
Shooting percentages
54% FG, 37.5% from 3, 81.8% from free throw line
ORTG offensive power rating: 125 , which is elite
As you can see, Jeffress made large strides in his shooting ability year over year. A year ago from today in the EYBL, Jeffress 3 point shooting ability was almost non-existent as he barely even attempted 3's in his game because he couldn't consistently make them. His final year this year as a graduating 16 year old, he made 42 three balls at 37.5% from 3 which is excellent.
As I had mentioned, Jeffress has put heavy focus on improving his shooting ability which is why he projects as a wing with potential backup minutes as a 2 this coming season. He is going to make his fair share of 3's at Pitt as his shot continues to further develop. His stats in his final year for his age look fantastic besides the turnover numbers. Working on his handle and tightening it will help him as he continues to age and mature as a player.
Brandon Weston stats
High School year-All State selection in Illinois
24ppg /10rpg / 3assist /2 steal
47% FG, 84% free throw, 32% from 3
Weston averaged 12ppg and 4rpg in the EYBL
There is a NY toughness element with Weston that I previously touched on and Weston projects as one of the top on ball defenders entering college as a guard / wing. As I mentioned, the NY and Pitt connections are there for both him and for Pitt.
Interest on both sides between Weston and Pitt is serious and legit and he would be a fantastic addition to an already great class.
